It's discouraging for those who want definitive answers!&nbsp; This is a hugely subjective thing. It's beneficial as a tool to guide color selection and shopping, and to give confidence. I think it's wrong when it gives a box that feels limiting or uncomfortable. (Which is why I've kept poking at it for myself.) That is a fascinating theory you have, and I can see how it works. For me it's both blues and greens that have wide range. Green in particular, where everything from from yellowish pea green to a softened emerald blue-green works. They all make my hair look very red. Yellow is pretty limited, since it needs to be in the true yellow from butter to yellow mustard/school bus, but absolutely not browner or oranger than that. Purple even more limited! Pure speculation: Since your hair color has cooled, maybe your dominant characteristic is now Bright. Or, a custom blend of the Bright and Warm palettes. I agree, though, that you're probably not a full seasonal blend. I can see that I am more cool than warm. There was in fact a strong red cast to my hair at some times, (and I dyed my hair auburn in my 30s and it looked great). But there was also, and always, a charcoal undertone, and the charcoal came to dominate more and more and then the silvery whites came in.&nbsp;</p> <p>Anyway, the cool palette is absolutely right for me. There is only one colour in it I don't and can't wear and that is the clear lemon yellow. I am definitely warm. It's the undertone of my very pale skin, and I am super attracted to the very notion of warmth. Cold, clear and bright colors, no matter how attractive, make me shiver. I often have very visceral reactions to colors. Olive, moss, all shades of brown, tawny reds, the vivid orange of sunsets, muted blues, grayed white, worn black, mustard, pewter and silver gilt are the colors that appeal to me. In terms of tonality, what resonates along with warm, are muted and autumn colors.</p> <p>However, I've come to realize the ruddiness in my pale skin must have some component of coolness in it, however small, because both optic white (which I do wear, but only in summer's strong light), cream and an oyster or grayed white all look equally good on me. As do both warm and cool olives. If you held my feet to the fire and made me choose one over the other, I would probably plump for warm, but only just. I do like this: "This says that any colour type that isn’t “pure” cool or warm will have a mix of warm/cool in their coloring e.g cool hair and skin with warm eyes." That makes a lot of sense to me, since my hair is warm but my skin and eyes lean cool. Also fascinating that you have trouble with blues. It does sound like you lean to the bright side. Which would make sense with the fabric texture, since crisp, light fabrics tend to be more reflective and can appear brighter. As opposed to heavier, flatter materials that absorb light.</p>
