SO pretty. I'm hard to pick a fave but I really love the eggplant combinations on you. The skirt with the cognac boots and the jeans in the last photos. Those colors are so warm and rich--they look effortlessly elegant in a way. I would totally wear 2 but I love tomboy. I think you wear it well! It could be just that the blues come across more "muddy" as opposed to the eggplant. This makes it difficult to assemble such outfits. I have a limited color palette but not necessarily all the items to create a tonal outfit. Late last year I have decided rather organically to focus my tonal ambitions on the green and red color palette, because I have many pieces in those families and I don’t anticipate growing tired of burgundy, blush and forest green.</p> <p>So this week I decided to partake in FashInterns challenge. Here are my outfits constructed with only my deep winter wardrobe – would be nice to repeat come spring!</p> <p>1) New green skirt with bluish teal sweater and teal shirt layered under. Is this still tonal? I liked the version with my new light green sweater better but it was in the laundry.<br /> 2) Same pieces up top but with blue jeans. This is about as tomboyish as I’ll go . Dressing in shades of blue is almost a safety blanket for me – does not make me feel fab but not drab either (like all grey or black does).<br /> 3) Cinnamon skirt with burgundy sweater feels tonal to me though it probably isn’t in the strict sense. Too bad this skirt is pilling and won’t last another season.<br /> 4) I used to wear this combination a lot but to be honest, the pants are now relegated to “back-up loungewear” because I constantly need to pull them up! I still love blush with burgundy and am now thinking it may be interesting to try and find a better version of these pants, maybe corduroy.<br /> 5-6) The eggplant jeans are great contenders for tonal outfits too, as shown in these two. I'm wearing 5 today and 6 is a bonus pic from earlier I think I shared before.</p> <p>Btw this selection is pretty exemplary for my current way of dressing. Due to winter temps almost every day is pants (or skirt with fleece tights) + longsleeve + warm sweater. Getting a bit bored with that so this challenge was a welcome diversion.</p> <p>All thoughts and comments welcome! </p>
