I have a pair of suede boots, that kinda scare me because I don't want to wreck them. Still, I love the look of suede. I got these as my only apir of brown boots last year and quickly decided I needed a non-suede pair as well for nasty weather days. As long as you don't mind getting another pair for rainy weather (more shopping - what a trial!) I say got for it!!

I love suede. Since we don't much rain or snow in the winter, I don't have a problem with it.

I go with San on this one--Pheonix may give you enough room to enjy the suede without the pain.I live in the south which means LOTS of rain in the summer.I swore off suede for a while then took the plunge and I have been fine.Be sure to treat them with weather protectant and give them a good brush now and then. But, if it looks like monstrous rain outside, head back to your closet and switch them out

I had some suede shoes that I mainly wore inside (at conferences) and they lasted for years.

I'd go for it living in Phoenix. I love the look of suede boots.

I live in Chicago -- winter means salty roads, wet sidewalks, wet, salt and snow. And then more salt!

Suede, I have learned the hard way, is just completely impractical. I love it, I have many suede shoes, and I wish I could buy more. But I just can't anymore.

Do you even have salt trucks in Phoenix? I think you'll be fine.

That is the question.

I noticed that a few folks have sworn off suede for Fall/Winter.

I had my eye on a gorgeous pair of SW booties in black suede, and they aren't cheap. No pics, sorry. But I'm wondering if I'll be pissed later once they start to show wear.

What are your thoughts about suede shoes?
