Its lovely. But there are two issues for you to consider. One is that a circular hem is really, and I mean really difficult to take up, especially if it's been cut on the bias. The other issue is that with such a full skirt, if you have a high hip the skirt will billow away from the waist and not have long enough on your 5'1"" to come back in again, ie the cheerleader effect. Sorry to be so negative but I have just finished sewing a full skirted dress so these problems are fresh in my mind. I'm 5'2" and I think you could shorten it just fine but it is also very full from the start. There is a lot of bulk around the mode'ls middle. I don't known if that would make a difference to you.
