Hi there;) That is a lovely outfit.
We are wordy people, I actually checked the word in the dictionary, It is one color, go figure,

May I just make a small side comment? I think your blog is lovely, and although I am not always in agreement with advice you write there, It works for you and your readership. I know YLF is an open community and I, for one, enjoy your diverging thoughts on fashion. It should be noted that YLF is also the personal blog of our dear Angie, whom is a seasoned fashion professional. Out of respect for that, I have always taken the approach that it is not my role here to ever take upon writing how to's, or providing general styling guidelines. That is Angie's role in my mind, as this is her blog. Your tone sometimes comes across as general fashion advice, that's where i'm coming from. Just my humble fifty cents.

My definition of dressing monochromatically is dressing either all one color head to toe, dressing with shades of the same color, or dressing with colors that are the same intensity level... though I guess using colors that are the same intensity but not the same color is just low contrast dressing and not monochromatic. Hope this makes sense. The more I type, the more confused I get, lol.

I see where people are interpreting differently. You apparently mean ALL one color on top. ALL one color in the lower half. But I too interpret "monochromatic" as meaning full-body color that is in the same family. Anyway, you do look sleek and sophisticated. (Just went back and read all the comments, so I see I'm being repetitive with mine.)

I don't know if it's actually sleeker or not, but I have always liked to dress monochromatically. I think it looks more sophisticated.

Yes I use this trick with one colour/tone only top and bottom to create a sleek look. I think maybe what you are meaning is that you use solids top and bottom which is IMO more streamlined at times than patterns, however my understanding of monochromatic is the same colour/tone throughout, like Angie's "Column of Colour" concept. Pretty outfit though and you do look lovely.

I'm confused....did you mean to link to a different picture? I see 2 colors rather than 1 or even similar tones.

I think we have a different definition of monochromatic; to me, it means one tone (and similiar variations) head to toe. I see pink and black here, so 2 tones.

Just a little trick I have always used to look sleeker and make getting dressed that much more simple: using monochromatic colors to appear longer and leaner. Also wearing a high waisted skirt and a few other tricks help in lengthening the body: http://bit.ly/YNCJ28

Do you guys think this has a "sleek" affect? Do you use this tip?
