I was just looking at something similar in the stores here yesterday. I think if your scotchguard them they shoul be fine. I wear suede boots in winter and it can be quite wet here. I can see these going with so many things. As for the practicality, I have had suede boots in our snow/wet and as long as I keep up with the spraying and weatherproofing of them, they are fine. It's a classic neutral. As long as the heel is not too high for your new MOTG lifestyle, I'd say buy them.</p> <p>As far as the fabrication goes, I have suede shoes and boots, and suede is a pretty hard-wearing material, not much different from smooth leather. You may need to brush up the nap sometimes with a suede brush (I've been known to use an old toothbrush or extra nailbrush for this purpose) and you should spray them with a good waterproofer meant for suede.
