I have the red Munros from last year. They work for me, even though my foot is a bit wide, and definitely "full volume." I did size up 1/2 size. Love the leopard, and may have to check my TJ's!

(I'm liking the lace up trend, but they will require a different approach to styling, particularly for work).

You found some treasures! I hope they all work out for you. I quit going to TJ Maxx because I could never find anything I wanted, but I might have to start going again if they have Fryes. Thanks for sharing!

I love all 3. The leopard print booties are fab!!! I want to see them styled!

I like the Munroe wedge. They do look dressy and comfy (what a rare yet great combo!) and I think they would look really good with trousers and skirts.

Love the lace ups too. Again - need to see them styled to be able to tell how great they look on you.

I was at TJ Maxx last week and saw the Frye boot display. I tried on a pair of the booties but did not find them as comfortable as my Bare Traps. I also have my 1980s tall Frye boots and they are both classy and comfy. I don't know if Frye quality today still exists or not, but my knee high boots are 30 years old.

Firecracker, I love those taupe booties! Can't wait to see outfits.
It's probably good I've got too much going on now with work and OOT trip to do tryons or wear them. Built- in cooling off period!

I think all three have potential for you. (I like the Fryes you posted in Finds but can't quite picture the others you are describing.) I never got the Munro Robyn, but this season at NAS I got a similar looking boot, so I'm hoping the look is still in style. I think the little wedge pumps in wine could be very useful, with your love of burgundy. I've seen them IRL and thought they were pretty, too. The Fryes seem very different for you, but not too far "out there." (I think usually we are seeing your work clothes, which tend to be a little dressier looking.) They are a great classic casual style.

Destri and Joy: Just based on in-store reaction, I think the leopard Munro's will be keepers. I need to hike in them a bit but they may be the best fit of the bunch and the ones that would "make the most difference".

Diana, I had the same reaction to the slightly pointy laceup--Victorian and more refined! I was worried maybe "witchy" would come to mind but they are not that pointy and they don't seem to curl up at toe, even, the way some Born's do and give that Leprechaun look. I'll have to play with them some.
I have posted this Find ad nauseum, but this slightly pointy Halogen has been a real workhorse.

Nice haul!

I like an almond toe on my lace ups personally. It makes them a little more refined and less clunky. A teeny bit Victorian.

If they are carsons, I will warn you that I used to own carsons (not the lace ups though) and sold them because they gave me the worst ball of foot pain ever even though they were super comfy in every other regard and the heel was low. Something about the curvature of the sole put all the pressure on one point of my sole. But then again I have virtually no fat pads on my soles, so you might not have a problem.

None of these look extreme in the toe shape to me. Please keep the leopard, if comfortable, for sure. The Frye's are gorgeous and don't look all that pointed.

I can say that I have the Munro animal print bootie and it's one of my favorite shoe purchases ever. They seems to go with just about everything (which was a bit of a surprise to me) and are very comfy. I plan to wear mine a lot again this season. So, my vote would be "go for it!" on those for sure!

My surrounding TJMaxx's seem to mostly have lower-tier items, things made for the market, seldom the real "find".

Just came across a group of Munro and Frye footwear and I was so astounded I scooped some up to try at home. In store I never have on the right hose/socks/pants, and they have those doo-hickies on them.

Here are the items:
Munro Robyn in animal print ! Whoa! I never tried the Robyn because a) I thought the heel was too high/narrow for me. It's not! and b) the Munro shoe last does not quite "get me" in a lot of styles. They run too narrow through toebox even sized up, relative to heel. These seem to fit really well (pending true-life tryon). Plus, the leopard is somewhat "soft", taupey. These might be a way to add a touch of interest but not too crazy.
--?? too last -season? or some staying power, if they work with outfits?

Munro wedge ? pump. Though the toe is a little square, for some wacky reason these appeal to me with straight and tapered pants --they seem to make things look more dressed-up. And burgundy is softer than black. Need to try with more pants, with tights and skirts. May be in-store sales goggles. Hmm.

Frye -2 booties--one may be Carson laceup. Will add photo if I can find.
Another is similar toe-shaped above-ankle boot. Both in dark brown with blackened antiquing. They look very fun with pants--the pointier toe looks good because it balances the more sedate trouser look. BUT: these are $$ even on discount. I don't need both, and may not need either! Boot is more...standard. Lace-up... fits closer to ankle and may work with better with narrower pants. Again, need to try.
YLF question: If they work, is the pointy toe part of standard boot-wear or very transient? Frye makes a lot of rounder-toes (or has) so if I were investing in Fryes, I should get some tall boots with rounder toes which are usually are more foot-friendly . Again, could be, "it's Frye! and they're on sale!"

Just had to bring them home in order to think and compare, to see any of them actually DO something for outfits. Maybe the cold light of home will help.
