Best of luck to you! I agree with the others- find a ring style you truly love and take your time looking around. I always wanted a round solitare and 90% off them that we saw had only 4 prongs holding it, which made it look more square. DH found a 6 prong ring that truly showed off the shape and was a little safer (iop) because at the time I was a cashier-always working with my hands (a coworker had lost her stone years ago when it fell out of the 4 prong setting) and for the wedding band we found a rather unique one that opens sideways (like little circles) that the ER fits inside of...the wedding band itself has a curved row of small diamonds (up and down) that the snuggles in the middle of....

Congratulations! It's all down to personal choice I went with a flat ring with the stones fitted in a chanel in the ring. I work with kids and didn't want to catch it and scratch them (the kids) I also find it moves less than other rings with the stones which stand proud of the ring this stays in place mostly whereas others with sticky up stones I find get pulled around my finger x

Choose what's meaningful to you and don't let the diamond industry (or anyone else) tell you what you need. Buy something you find beautiful whether it's vintage, plain gold, sapphires, a necklace, even a tattooed finger! The important thing is that it reflects the couple's preferences and beliefs. I think that's a good idea for planning the wedding too, make it your own.

Congratulations! This is great news. We aren't jewelers here, and a good one can advise you cut, quality, clarity, etc. But mostly, get a stone that you love and that you and your fiance can afford. You'll have it a long time!
