Thanks, Steph! Great tip. I'm willing to shell out the cash for shoes that I love. I guess another part of it is that I try to avoid heels, and often the flats I see have a clunky construction or are just not my style. I agree about shopping around pair by pair - I have a good number of wedges and sandals that I've found this way, but have been stumbling on finding a good pair for winter in the Northeast.

Thanks again!

Hi Quail! I only buy vegan shoes, but don't have any issues with width (I think my feet are average width). You said vegan shoes tend to be clunky: where are you shopping? It can be time-consuming, but you might want to look at websites for brands like Nine West and Steve Madden, which carry a lot of shoes that are all faux. You have to look at each description, which can be exhausting, but it can also be worth it.

I'm actually a huge fan of Stella McCartney's shoes and I have many pairs. They are very expensive, but can be found for discounted prices on yoox.com and ebay. I once got a $600 pair of sandals for $60! Her shoes are definitely not wide.

Hi, all. I'm relatively new to the site and I love how friendly and positive everyone seems to be! It's also great to find so many stylish vegetarians here. That said, I was wondering if any of you have tips on finding vegan shoes that work well for narrower feet. I take a size 9 with an exact A width, which is right between a narrow (or AA) and a regular width. In general I get along fine wearing regular 9s, but vegan shoes tend to be so clunky. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with limitations on the construction, but has anyone had any success? (I also have somewhat narrow calves, if anyone's come across some killer flat vegan boots.)

Thanks in advance!
