Black pants and a white top is how I saw this type of jacket styled on the free people website. It looked casual-cool. Also a column of black is a good, practical suggestion that will help tone it down. I also was thinking a turtleneck would work well with it.... though I don’t have one. </p> <p>Joy: thank you. I think a stripe top is a great idea. I did try it next to my mustard tee, but the mustard sadly clashed oddly with the gold braiding. Toffee is a clever idea too, and I wouldn’t have thought of it so thank you. I used to have a toffee chino skirt that would have been perfect but it got ...ahem... too tight.</p> <p>Cindysmith: your ideas are fantastic. I will try it immediately with my white romantic/dramatic blouse, see pic below. Why didn’t I think of that? Something completely over the top, like the first 2 pics. Some knee high equestrian style boots &amp; a skinny trouser or jean to finish it off. </p> <p>However, that is a LOT of look and not everyone's cup of tea, so....</p> <p>I'd suggest a white tee and some white sneaks to dress it down. Maybe even some distressed jeans to contrast the formality of the jacket. I actually think it can be very versatile. I would combine it with a variety of jeans styles, e.g. coloured skinnies, skinnies tucked into boots for the equestrian/military vibe, bootcuts or flares for a boho vibe. It’s nicely made, fits well and is surprisingly warm.<br /> I hope to beg of you all some styling ideas for it. So far I’ve tried it with white, sky blue and navy plain, lightweight sweaters and tees underneath. I used a silk print scarf in navy to soften the look a bit.<br /> I do rather like it even though it’s a completely different look to the rest of my wardrobe, and likely won’t be the easiest to style.<br /> Any other ideas guys? Much appreciated! </p>
