The ecru pieces I was planning on for next week are really tired. Fortunately I snapped up some random stuff along the way that will work: a Elie Tahari moss sweater dress with a pleated skirt, an Elie Tahari silk rust print dress, an ancient Lafayette 148 olive A line dress with an interesting spiral construction, a Natori rust dress with interesting crushed fabric, a Paige russet silk chiffon skirt to pair with the last of my once extensive collection of Elie Tahari ivory silk blouses, and a Scotch and Soda snake print faux wrap dress. None of these were bought with some grand plan to build the one holiday capsule to rule them all. I think if you buy a fun piece or two every year events will find you. I have an ivory boiled wool jacket to toss over everything and a couple of silk scarves I never wear that will work with all the solids. I have an old teal velvet broomstick skirt, and some black velvet and burgundy corduroy bootcuts, and am thinking going a bit more Western than I usually do.
