Did you try it on?
I have a weird aversion to these shirts. Don't want extra material hanging down there. Makes me think of an undressed man, if you get my drift. lol.

Good tips from Liz. I love this type of top exactly because it's a fun and stylish way to camouflage;-)
As long as you make sure that the top isn't too short, so that it comes to below the tummy area, and there is a bit of room for length adjustment, I think this could be great.

I think you could adjust the tightness of the bottom knot to have have the hem sit where you like it best -- you might want it in one place on your body for skirts, and another for pants.

I bought a shirt with a tie like that and after wearing it discovered that the dangly ties were troublesome -- on my shirt they hit at the wrong place and felt awkward. But I still liked the shirt itself. So I tucked the ties and the knot up under the shirt and then sewed them in place so they'd stay there.

I came across this shirt the other day and am thinking of going in and trying it one tomorrow but I'm not sure how the tie part should fit. Where should it sit? At the hips? Above? Below? I'm a pear shape and want to camouflage the tummy area and am not sure whether this will only draw attention to it? Advice on what to look for when I try it on would be appreciated!
