I since tried to find one in a similar store to no good result. I ended up taking my shoes to a shoe repair and had them add holes for me. I think those who live in cities where one wants to be a little more dressed up (like I think is the case with Suz) do have to deal with that, but I live more in "the country" and if I'm going to be walking around my neighborhood in slushy/snowy conditions I'll be wearing "sporty" snow boots. </p> <p>Joy, the ankle straps are adjustable but not much, just one additional hole. I've heard it's easy enough to punch additional holes in leather but have never tried it. They have what’s called “N5” technology which is a sort of&nbsp;orthotic insert. The 2” heel on these might not work for me for al-day but the&nbsp;overall comfort level is terrific. &nbsp;I think this brand is considered a “comfort” brand, and they tends toward more&nbsp;classic looks so might not be everyone’s cuppa but every pair of Naturalizer I’ve<br /> owned have been super comfortable and lasts a long time, with nice leather. </p> <p>I<br /> love these booties and am looking at some Naturalizer&nbsp;tall boots too. &nbsp;I have low volume feet that are not too fussy,&nbsp;with narrow heels, and a wider ball-of-the-foot area.&nbsp;I also generally need a fair amount of padding in shoe soles to be comfortable.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>The pic shows the boots with longer length pants and also slightly shorter ones&nbsp;where the strap and buckle are more visible.
