I *just now* noticed that the dates on my original post should read January rather than December. It's too late to edit it, so could everyone else ignore it too? *facepalm*

Thanks, all. Should I admit that I already went to another thrift store yesterday and picked up some other things? (I'll take pics soon, promise.) I think maybe everyone did a post-Christmas cleanout and donated a lot and those things are now showing up on the shelves.

Sveta, I am growing my hair out a bit at the moment - I'm glad it looked good that day!

Although it is time-consuming, thrifting is a great deal of fun. You did very well!

I will be looking for your WIW's with the two summer skirts; the plaid skirt is perfect for turtlenecks and I love the layering in your easy, casual jeans and jacket outfit. I thrift a lot so I know how it feels to find things you love!

I like the blazer and the plaid skirt - nice pieces.
I do thrift sometimes: over the holidays I got 3 waistcoats - black sleeveless jacket, short tweed waistcoat and a cropped denim in medium wash.
Do you have a new haircut - you look wonderful!

Really nice! I love skirts like that one, and the blazer looks great. I'm a new convert to thrifting, myself.

Not much of a thrifter but it looks like you did well! Love your outfitsl. The skirt outfit is gorgeous on you--I could see it with a long scarf too. Great layering in the jeans ensemble! I love that easy, casual style on you. It's fab!

Last week I was having an urge to go shop (spend some time browsing, really) and given my post-Christmas budget, that meant thrifting. I had good luck, too - you thrift fiends know that it can always be hit or miss. Here's some of what I picked up, from two different shops:

two summer skirts - blue/white striped linen with adorable kickpleats (that's the back), and embroidered brown linen - and a black summer top with an interesting neck detail

then I managed two pieces that I can wear now:

5 Dec - the skirt is thrifted and gray/purple plaid on the bias (ignore the lining showing in the pic, sigh). This one I think has a definite 70s vibe to it, but maybe it's just all those photos I've seen of my mom wearing a turtleneck and a bias-cut skirt. [turtleneck, Gap; shoes, Bandolino/Marshalls]

10 Dec - today I happily broke out the new thrifted chocolate brown cord blazer, which can now replace my old one, also thrifted (always a bit too big, and now just ludicrously so). [pink top, Coldwater Creek; jeans, Eddie Bauer; heels, Mudd/Kohl's]

For all 5 pieces it was less than $30 - not bad, I thought. Oh yeah, I also picked up a basic knit crewneck in charcoal gray, didn't even bother photographing that one.

Has anyone else picked up something fun from their recent thrift store shopping?
