Great finds. I would style it in the same way you style your fruits and flowers skirt as it also has a lady like vibe. Your ideas look good. I agree to play down the femininity. A denim jacket and sneakers does this perfectly.
I had my first thrifting session this year this week. I have been restraining myself. I scored an unusual denim button down with neck ties, an olive and cream striped short boxy tee, denim jorts and a black grommet belt.

I have had no thrifting finds lately. Maybe soon.
That skirt is beautiful. I like Suz idea of a chambray shirt. Also a slightly dressy blouse tied in the front would perfect to. I like the sneakers.

What a fabulous day of thrifting you had! Great fun and terrific finds. Each of these items will work so well in your carefully curated closet. the bag is a definite winner, the dark red top fits right in with Angie's recent blog post (as well as Canada Day) and I'd be wearing those jeans for most of the summer!

The skirt is beautiful and fits so well -- of course you had to have it! I like it with the tee and I don't mind the blue sneakers, either, but I might go with blue laces in that case, just to keep things more simple so as not to compete with the skirt.

Couple of styling ideas for the skirt out of your wardrobe:

Skirt, pale blue Uniglo linen longsleeve shirt (possibly tied at waist and definitely scrunched) and yellow slingbacks.

Chambray shirt dress worn open from the waist over the skirt to show the lace in front -- whatever shoes you like, but I'd try the slingbacks again, or the blue sneakers or maybe your whiskey loafers and some other whiskey item (maybe the bag or a scarf around your hat that pulls in whiskey tones.)

Worn again with one of the pale blue linen shirts, plus the Hermes Nuba Mountain scarf tied triangular at waist (as they do, you know) and your whiskey loafers/ bag?

Black sleeveless turtleneck and black fisherman's sandals (this might be too heavy looking -- hard to say in advance.)

New sweatshirt and whiskey loafers.

In answer to your question, I have had zero luck thrifting lately. I went to a bunch of my favourite haunts when in Vancouver and found nothing I was looking for and nothing serendipitous that I wasn't looking for, either. :(

Haven't found anything in Victoria lately either. It's been too long since I had a great thrifting find.

That skirt - wow! It's really a beautiful piece. And the coach bag is lovely, too. I also would go lighter with shoes and the jacket. I love the red top with it, but would be interested in a bright patterned scarf instead of the jacket.

My thrifting was mostly early in the year, sweaters and corduroys, and cold weather shoes. I haven't seen anything lately that I've liked.

Love all your thrifting finds ! The Coach bag in particular is a great score . The skirt is very pretty and seems to fit you well but it does look a little delicate for your everyday style . I do like Jenni and Cookie ‘s collective idea re your yellow slingbacks , and I might try a less contrast- y top like one of your sleeveless linens in pale blue ? I’m not a huge fan of denim jackets over everything - I think it’s no longer the style “ surprise “ it once was . A cotton or linen sweater in yellow or pale blue would be pretty .

The only thrifting I do is done for me , so to speak . There’s a local woman who scours the thrift stores and personal collections of friends for interesting things , then cleans and presses them to look like new . She posts them on IG and I find the odd piece that way . Otherwise I can’t deal with thrift stores - they are pretty junky looking in Winnipeg .

First, what great new additions to your wardrobe. Each piece is lovely and I look forward to seeing how you style them into outfits.

Now on to the new skirt, what a divine piece. I like how you have styled it here. The denim jacket and graphic tee tie together the dark blue sneakers so I don't see any bottom heavy-ness for these outfits.

For additional styling, I think a black sandal and a black or dark top would create contrast against the skirt, while also complementing a dark theme for top and shoes. Similar to what you've already done with blues.

I also really like white and yellow for summer. I think you have yellow shoes if I recall correctly. A column of white (maybe the peasant top you posted recently?) with the skirt and a yellow shoe could be lovely.

When it's topper weather again, your whiskey crop trench might be nice paired with the skirt. Whisky and white are a chic combination.

This skirt has lots of styling potential and was a beautiful wardrobe addition. Bravo!

Oh and for your question on thrifting so far this year, I added two tops. The off white pairs perfectly with both my cowgirl boots and the pink plaid I just wore this week with JCrew chino shorts in this post. :)

What an amazing and enviable thrifting day! I love your finds.

The skirt is sooo beautiful. I think it is super cute with the superhero T-shirt and sneakers, but in general I would go for less color contrast and also mostly less style contrast. I love Jenni’s idea of the yellow shoes. Maybe a sleeveless top in light brown or light blue. The new Coach purse would also be nice with it!

I love the bag, of course, being a big Coach fan. Most of my Coach bags are thrifted. I have no ideas about the skirt, at all, sorry.

I’m sticking to my idea of an all black outfit for Fourth of July.

I haven’t been thrifting, per se, but I did buy a couple of things on Poshmark recently, a dress and a jacket.

Oh Carla what a beautiful skirt! Adore!
I would be wanting everything in the outfit to be delicate, so the juxtaposition doesn’t make me happy personally but I totally understand that our styles are different. What about your yellow slingbacks and find a more delicate top? I love your new red top too and how the Coach bag matches your loafers. I am Mrs Matchy-Matchy along with Lisa and others.
I’m doing badly with thrifting I can’t find the white pants I need at several thrift stores I have tried and no new ones either. It is the wrong season for them here of course but I nursed along my old ones last summer and really want to replace them before next summer. Most new ones I have seen are crazy expensive for what they are or the fabric is too thin and see-through.

With two things on my fashion list, I decided to do the rounds of the thrift shops to see if I could cross them off my list.

First - a bag/purse to match the whisky loafers I bought new last fall. I’ve had no luck in the regular shops, but found a cool little Coach cross body at ‘Second Helpings’ (supports Big Sisters, Big Brothers). See Finds below. ($35 CAD)

Second - a red top for Canada Day. My last thrifted top gave me two good years, but was looking tired after last summer, so I said ‘thankyou and good-bye’. Earlier this month I realized I had red accessories, but no red clothing items! It’s been my habit to thrift my Canada Day outfit - so, found a red lace sleeveless top at ‘Repurpose’ (supports a women’s shelter) ($4 CAD) Picked up a pair of light weight summer denim cropped pants in faded blue ($8 CAD) as well.

’Antiques on Queen’ is my go-to for silk scarves, but has been getting some very cool clothes recently. You have to move quick ‘cause the theatre costumers from Toronto know about this place, and clean it out regularly. My purpose was to pick up two 100% silk Tommy Bahama shirts for the menfolk (at $20 CAD each, but I found a Badgley Mishka skirt that was so beautifully made - I had to have it ($15 CAD). 10% cotton, lined, with French seams on both the skirt and the lining. Gorgeous work!

Style challenge. The skirt is not really in my wheel house. Too delicate, too boho. If I was 20something I would wear it to Coachella with a spaghetti strap tank top and rubber boots! Below a quickie styling sesh with items from my closet. I think the navy leather sneakers are wrong/too heavy, but my chunky Ecco sandals might work - with a different top. I’m trying to be irreverent and juxtapose the delicacy of the skirt. I think the denim jacket works. Not ure what else to try.

Do you have any ideas/suggestions?

Have you done any thrifting this year? Any ‘scores’?

Thanks for reading!
