I love Converse. I currently have 9 pairs, 6 pair of low and 3 pair of high. I am linking to an old forum post where I had my then 6 pair pictured. I have since added 3 more pair. For some reason I couldn't copy and add just the pic so I am listing the link. http://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/my-converse You will rock those Cons!

ETA, Janet, I wear them mostly in spring and fall, too. Only on rainy days in summer when I don't want my feet to get soaked in sandals.

I loved the Marimekko Cons I snapped in Beijing when I was there. Wishing I bought a pair.

Lots of Converse love from the forum! High five, everyone.

I think I'll go for laceless ones someday. I don't need more than two pairs of sneakers in my closet though, so I'll have to wait!

I have some Cons and I love them, but they always end up being more spring and fall than summer shoes for me. The grey ones and purplish ones below (pic 1) both have big tongues, and they look best with narrow-legged jeans (not shorts or capris). I also have a pair of off-white laceless ones like Gracie shows above, and I love them, but they are my Texas ranch shoes that I can kick on and off and throw in the wash when they get dirty.

Even when they're not Cons, I love the sporty sneaker look. My Frye hightops (2) and Ash Genial wedges (3) have that vibe. Again, I wear those more in the cooler months.

For summer wear with shorts, capris and even skirts, I prefer slip-on sneakers for the lower vamps and more streamlined look -- on me, they look more flattering to my ankles and legs, and also less overtly tomboyish, which somehow seems to work better on me.

I'm like suz. The classic flat ones kill my feet even with inserts but I like my hi nesses.

I once saw someone wearing leopard cons with beige instead of white rubber, which I thought were awesome.

I've been wearing the classic black hightops since the early 90s, but I don't wear them every day now like I did for the first decade or so. They discontinued the variant that I liked best ("slim") so I have a few stockpiled in my closet unworn.

I was actually considering getting lowtops to wear with a skirt, and/or the monochromatic white ones, for a change.

I'm a new convert. I went for the classic whites, and they've been terrific, and a stronger fashion statement than my white Keds, which were feeling, well, too TAylor Swift for me.

I love my Converse too! I have black low-tops that I have mostly worn with shorts and jeans. Last year, I bought the Hi-Ness ones in gray, and they are one of my favorite fashion purchases ever! I wore them today with black ponte "skinny jeans" and I have worn them with very casual skirts and dresses, too. They go with almost anything, are comfortable and fun.

I had a pair of laceless lo-cuts in black. Very cool. But after awhile, they became my lawn-mowing shoes, which then got left out in the rain one too many times, at which point DH threw them out . Just when they were getting nice and faded and "seasoned". Men.

I have a couple of pairs: low ones in white cotton, and high top in black leather, which I got to wear while riding my scooter. I also have Jack Purcells in avocado.

If I were looking for another pair I'd get these tartan ones:

I've never worn any version. Had Vans back in '82 and again around '95 or so but never Chucks. I have fondled some really cute low top colors and patterns on the sale rack at Beall's here over the years but never bit. Even just last week saw some bright purple that made me come over and look closer. The soles feel heavy for such a flat, non supportive shoe, and I'm in sneakers constantly when at work, both reasons may be why I've so far not jumped on the bandwagon.

I love them but could never wear them because I'm the opposite of Tessitura. The completely flat footbed is murder on my feet. Then I found the Hi-Ness (with the little wedge). I fear it's a short lived fad but for me it has been perfect. My hightop Hi-Ness make me very happy. I'd be delighted to get some low-tops, too, if I could manage the footbed.

I used to wear the high tops-- had 4 pair in high school (red, flames, skulls, and olive and orange graffiti-- totally were my signature). Now I stick to the jack purcells because they have an orthotic-like insert. I am wearing my current navy canvas low tops sans socks (I put those little drug-store insoles in them and wash the insoles on the regular) with a knit skirt at work! My biggest complaint is how crummy the laces are-- very fuzzy and pilly and not like my older pairs. In maybe a month and a half they will be heading into storage for boots, but I'm tempted to add another pair next summer -- maybe white or snakeskin leather.

And has anybody found the laceless ones slip around more on your foot? I love the look but get blisters from all the sliding around they do. Wish I could find a way to hide the laces.

I just bought the Chuck '70s, but not to wear with skirts unless there's a stumpiest-legs contest for charity. Was at DSW trying to shop for running shoes when the intensely persistent SA got so on my nerves that I (temporarily) abandoned the friend who was elsewhere in the store, marched down to the Converse store and bought the Chucks at full price. They're a stopgap until I find *the* laceup boots.

Gracie, there's a pair of those grey laceless Cons in my size languishing at NR, I'm tempted by the ease.

Aziraphale, can't wait to see WIWs of your Cons with skirts!

Gracie -- I had grey ones about five years ago! I quite like the no-lace look. Mine always have laces, but maybe that's something to consider when my burgundy ones wear out.

Tessitura -- are you sure there aren't no-show socks in your size? My husband wears low-top Cons, and he has a whole bunch of white no-show socks.

I love the converse shoes, because I wear a size 12 and they are often unisex. I also find that the completely flat footbed of converse sneakers is far and away the most comfortable for my feet. And the sleeker, less bulky lines of the converse sneaker are far more minimizing on my large feet than most other sneakers. I've flirted with Vans, but they don't seem nearly as comfortable, durable, or attractive (though my rainbow sparkle checkerboards do make a statement...)

I have an old pair that I'm finally saying goodbye to, so my only pair of converse right now is a triple-upper pair... quirky, but hard to coordinate the black, pink, and violet with the rest of my wardrobe. I usually wear them with basic black. I keep flirting with the idea of picking up a couple more pairs and wearing Converse to work one day a week, but part of me rebels at the thought of sneakers in a business casual environment, even if they do have some hipster appeal here in the greater Seattle area...

I think I like the high-tops the best in and of themselves, but I mostly wear skirts, and I dread the stumpifying effect combined with the foot-enlarging effect of sneakers. Low tops can be done, but then there's the question of socks... they don't seem to make those "no show" socks in my size, and I feel odd about hose with sneakers. Going barefoot in sneakers is out of the question, because of the chafing... any ideas about how to deal with this?

I had a pair of Converse in junior high and just rediscovered them at this year's NAS. So far I really love them. Mine have a snake skin vibe and it is perfect with skirts and dresses. Truly sporty luxe. Love them!

I always have a pair of low-top Cons. They are the perfect casual sneaker for me. I wear them for a few years, then replace them, normally with a different colour. My current ones are dark burgundy, and I think they are my favourites so far.

I've been toying with the idea of getting into the sneaker-with-skirt trend, but I'm iffy on the puffy white sneakers that I've seen in pictures. Then it occurred to me -- my ten-year-old wears her high-top Cons with skirts. Maybe I need high-tops too! I went out and got myself a pair of black ones and I am SO RIDICULOUSLY HAPPY with them! They look cute with shorts, all kinds of jeans, and even a couple of my skirts.

Anyone else a staunch supporter of Converse All Stars? Are you a low-top or high-top fan? Or both?
