Nicole ..threading is an eastern hair removal method ..i guess it dates back to ancient Indian or Egyptian times. If you want to try it I'd suggest looking up a good (meaning with good reviews) Indian salon in your area..Since you live near Boston, I'm pretty sure google will be able to find you one.
The method involves holding two threads in both hands and pulling them in opposite directions along with the hair..sounds painful, I know, but it doesnt hurt much more than waxing or plucking. The reason I like to get my eyebrows threaded is you have more control over the shape and thickness of your eyebrows.

What's does having your eyebrows threaded involve? I used to wear my eyebrows very thin, and my husband finally told me it wasn't workin'. So, I painfully let them grow in (I swear it was harder than growing out a bad haircut). Now my daughter made a comment that my eyebrows are too thin. I am trying to let them grow in a little more, but I'm afraid I've plucked some of the hairs one too many times and now they won't grow. Thank goodness for bangs!

I get mine threaded, as well. It's much better than waxing, in my opinion. Your skin isn't pulled as much, and with wax, you always run the chance of your skin reacting in some way.

Sounds like you had a great day!

DD15 and I just had our eyebrows threaded at the mall, at one of those kiosks. Only $10 and 10 minutes and wow what a huge difference!!!

I'm afraid my eyebrows had gotten really unruly. I had them threaded first 3 years ago, managed to keep up with the tweezing on my own for about a year, but ever since, they've just gotten out of control. Not that they are very bushy and thick to begin with... not really enough to wax... they just get really LONG. I think in some cultures long eyebrow hairs are a sign of wisdom??

Anyway, they just look so great now!

The rest of the day was spent shopping for a graduation dress for DD13. We found her an adorable white and black sundress at Ann Taylor, and her first pair of high heels. DD15 scooped up a bunch of funky tee shirts at Wet Seal, including a black and white checkerboard one that will go great with her green jeans. She's got a euro-retro-punk kinda style.
