It must be positively apocalyptic closer to the fire.<br /> Some of the photos and videos from TO yesterday show super thick smoke and ash and haze. My mom said for a while it was very smoky and ashy and they could see occasional giant embers falling, but it got better. My parents’ backyard was on fire at one point. I can’t thank the firefighters enough for their heroic efforts to save so many homes and people. The cat is still packed and ready just in case. Many of their neighbors are also back home, and they have all been super kind. In situations like this you always realize how truly good many people are... </p> <p>Although it seems like the immediate danger has passed for them, the fire is still burning out of control and destroying many homes with no end in sight. So devastating. </p> <p>Suntiger, I’m so sorry about your mil’s friend’s house. This fire was apparently incredibly unpredictable and things went up in flames so quickly.
