I personally avoid hip pockets, but sometimes things are surprising once you try them on. The fact that the top is relatively fitted and has chest pockets too may mitigate the pocket factor, but as someone who also avoids chest pockets (usually too much emphasis on the boob area for me), I would pass this one up. It may, however, work for you!</p> <p>Ive finally figured out that a lot of "pears" on this forum look very different from me. I look at their pictures and don't see "pear" at all. I carry my weight widthwise -- No matter what my weight, I have wide hips, even though from the side I appear relatively small (no belly, no booty). It looks nice and crisp and I like that it's self-belted. But there are flat pockets on the front of the shirt around the hip area, so I'm wondering if, on a size 12-ish pear, they'll be too bulky.
