Austin has lots of thunderstorms, and the rain blows so that umbrellas aren't practical. I don't know how I do it, but I manage; my mom always says that I have an incredible talent to mess myself up It could have to do with longish walk (~30 min) in the heavy rain with the Boston wind. The cream trench and patent boots are for lighter rain conditions. I am going to order those yellow Tretorn wedge wellies I linked to in a past at some point in the early fall and am sort of looking for a serious raincoat to go with those. This second set should serve for heavy rain, and colder weather, so ideally I would need a raincoat that's completely waterproof, lined and warm for 40-45 as Nicole mentioned, and a bit cute too. I thought this one might fit the bill but I'm happy you have informed me what it's really like. Do you know if it's lined or how warm it will be? If it is lined and can be worn on a 40-50 degree day, then I think it would be ideal for our climate. But if it is unlined, then I'd probably pass on it. Unlined jackets like that will get clammy on the inside, and we don't really have too many warm rainy days that justify that kind of coat.
