I love #1. Awesome for the season. I do see, however, #2 as being more you, if unseasonal...

I would hang on to both and see if you wear the dresses this summer. I think they are lovely dresses but they are quite removed from the direction you appear to be going in. BUT it is good to have a little variety as we have discussed before. The JL dress is something that I think could be useful to have in the wardrobe for a variety of occasions. For example could be a good business dress with a jacket worn with it.

I agree with the previous comments. I love the first dress on you, and I especially love the different coloured patterns together. I like the second dress, but it is far more casual, which would make it less of a party dress in my eyes. But it would be great for more casual things, as I do think it is flattering and laid-back, beachy fun.

Thank you everyone! I am moving into wardrobe purge #2 and it's going to be really hard with some difficult decisions.

I'll keep the first one for this summer season and purge if I don't wear it. I'll have a play with the second one. I agree it's got a beachy vibe, which is perfect for where I live. Great suggestions to wear more delicate and lower heeled sandals with it. I will try the sitting/ walking test, but I can also wear a light white slip underneath because the background colour is white. A strapless bra will also help with looking less busty.

I really like the Jane Lamerton for the Christmas period although I do understand your new wardrobe ideals. I am doing the same thing. The dress does look lovely on.

As long as the second dress passes the sit down test, as others have said, will be a great dress for our hot Christmas party season. Not too beachy at all for us. But I must say I like the look of the first on you more.

#1 is lovely on you. I would keep it at least for this season and see if you wear it.

The other one is also pretty but looks harder to wear. How does it look with a lower heeled sandal?

I really like no 1. No 2 is good too. I agree with others that it has a beachy vibe. I would be concerned about the front split from a walking and sitting perspective. If it passes that I would keep. They both look good on you.

I also prefer #1 for party season.

#2 is lovely, but I agree that it has a "resort wear" look to it. And I would pair it with a sandal that is more delicate.

You look wonderful in both of these dresses!!

I like both, too. I don't watch Real Housewives, so I don't get that vibe. The magazine pics of RHs tend to have them in shorter, tighter and more blingy dresses, don't they? As a fellow Australian, beachy style is appropriate for our Summer holiday/ Christmas/ party season. Do do Shevia's sit down test, though.

I like both dresses. I probably like #2 a bit more than #1. I agree with the others that the second dress has a beachy vibe to it.

First dress is cool and looks like it would work for holidays. Second dress has a real "beachy" vibe to it - not as crazy about it!

#1 looks great. I don't see the real housewifey vibe at all - the neckline is quite high for one thing. the second dress is also beautiful, to me it looks longer than the shorter one because of the back - but you need to do the sit down test to make sure you won't feel awkward. Both look fab!

I kind of like #1 a lot. It's a simple dress, but definitely impactful. I know you're trying to build a monochromatic wardrobe, but dress #1 would be a good (and worthy) wild card.

I really like the easy-breezy look of #2. Very pretty! However, the dress has a very 'beachy' vibe to it. I don't know if that's the look you're after? On the other hand, that's just my personal opinion, so better to wait & see what others have to say.

For what it's worth, you look beautifully fabulous in both!

Both dresses were purchased a few months back for the upcoming holiday season. They don't fit with my new style direction, although I don't mind having some 'wild card' items in my wardrobe if they make me feel fabulous. eg. some vintage dresses or vintage inspired wiggle dresses, my printed silk Camilla dress.

I haven't worn either of these yet, so I'm unsure.

#1. Jane Lamberton. I thought that this would be a good dress for Christmas parties because of the colours. I'm not so sure now. It feels at bit Real Housewifey (the horror!). Does it look Real Housewifey?

#2. Country Road. I really like the neckline of this dress but it feels a bit short at the front with the crossover. Again, I thought this would be a good party dress.

I would really appreciate your thoughts
