I particularly like the boots with textured leather. </p> <p>I’m hoping for boredom-busting too. For me, that means getting away from the shape of my cardis and pullovers and sweatshirts and seemingly everything else in my closet. I’ve been thinking of both cropped and longer silhouettes, so like the lavender and seafoam cardis you show. Color wise, I’m still thinking. Love my berries, but it’s getting to be a cliche. I’ve noticed myself pairing pale pink with black recently. I’ve never been anywhere remotely close to a ballerina, so this is new to me &amp; feels fresh. I might start doing that intentionally. </p> <p>We have warm weather coming this week too. I’m excited that I’m excited. I used to be a summer girl, but couldn’t handle the Florida heat. Recently I’ve been seeking out the sun again, choosing to walk on the sunny side of the street, going out in the warmest part of the day on purpose. It feels wonderful to be happy about the sun again. I stick to holiday colors and metallics until the end of December, then change up the closet to mostly dark neutrals, which I am ready for after the holidays, but sick of before spring Last winter I added sweater dresses and some colorful sweaters for this time of year. The dresses are red and Orange Julius orange. The sweaters are orange and citron, and a multi-colorful with a matching bag. I hope to wear these with dark neutrals and some white. I plan to try to add a baby blue sweater or aqua in cashmere and navy booties. Peach would also be welcome. But I can’t help starting to wonder what I might add to refresh. At the start of this year I resolved to add more sophisticated color combinations to my pretty neutral casual wardrobe. For spring-summer I succeeded and added mainly spring green and seafoam (my color of the year). These shades have proven versatile for me as they combine well with navy, grey and denim blue as well as with olive for tonal dressing.<br /> Versatility is key: I’m not great with color but these new pieces served to replace grey and navy stuff I’d gotten tired of wearing in such large doses.</p> <p>So for the colder season I want to stick to that strategy. Here’s a collection of pieces I’ve spotted online that have potential. The two pairs of booties are on order as casual cognac shoes will likely be the most useful item I can add for the rest of the year, what with more wfh. I loved both these pairs by the brand Tamaris which has worked out well for me before.</p> <p>I want to add at least one warm cardigan for wfh (but polished). Not 6 :). Lavender has been on my list for months now and I’m liking this style with lots of neck-shoulder-point definition. A cosy hoodie would be nice and a longline cardigan extends the proportion possibilities. The first three pieces could be a mini capsule on their own. For this fall I’m feeling turtlenecks with cardis, even better if they’re tonally matched... </p> <p>Any thoughts? Have you defined key colors, silhouettes or styles for the new season yet? </p>
