I have always had a "mini" torso. Not mini bust. My shoulders and torso are a size small or extra small. I also wore shoulder pads and loved them. My lower half is not mini. More medium. I use to think the difference was extreme and that I looked like a flower pot. The top of me coming out of a flower pot.
Lifting weights toned my shoulders up. They became toned mini shoulders. Not bigger.
A massage therapist referred to me as an elf. She said she was a troll meaning that she built muscles very easily. Elves have long muscles.

Now I am happy with my mini torso. In my sixties I still have a waist. No shoulders.

Interesting....my two points I have found hard to accept are my tummy...even there at my slimmest and my small bottom. I've kind of learned to lI've with both and wear tight ponte pants sometimes to emphasise it.

I loved both of Angie's outfit inspiration in the blog. I replied that I usually wear these pants with a fitted top (should post some pics) but I want to try a more fluid top, as in outfit #1. Then I saw her answer to Roxxanna, explaining why she suggested a looser top.
This got me thinking: I am much smaller on top than on bottom, and deliberately choose to pair a fitted top with harem pants - which sounds counter-intuitive, but I think it shows better the fluidity of these pants.
That got me thinking...
Up to a certain point in my life my small shoulders were a pain to look at, in spite of years of swimming! I used shoulders pads well into the 90s to downplay the top/bottom contrast. Then decided I don't care and started wearing smaller tops, and still do. And now I like my shoulders just fine... go figure!
Over to you, have you learned not only to accept, but even to love an "imperfect" part of you?
