Realistically this means I usually end up chopping them off. I find that those types of loops are not sturdy enough to really use with my leather belts anyway. </p> <p>I *have* also added belt loops to a couple of skirts, though (ones whose waist was too big and therefore sat too low, and whose fabric is too slippery for a belt to stay in place w/o belt loops). I just sewed little pieces of matching colored ribbon to the waist; you might want to consider this if you really need belt loops. Usually it's because the item comes with a self-belt, and I often prefer to wear a different belt, which may be too wide or unwieldy for the loops.
