The only stores I know of that regularly carry tall lengths in stores are Old Navy and Target. You might luck out and find online returns in the clearance rack at Gap, BR, or AT but that's a crapshoot. Some department stores might have them, too.

I see that at one of the locations you've got an Ann Taylor Factory store. I'd definitely check there as their pants do run long and you might luck out with a tall length. I'd also check Eddie Bauer, maybe Gap and J Crew, and Lucky Brand if you're looking for jeans. Possibly J Jill and The Limited at your second mall. If nothing else you can figure out what size and style fits you and order the tall length online.

Your very best bet is to order J.Crew jeans and pants in Talls on line - you will not find the length in stores. J.Crew does the longest of ALL the Talls. And they often offer a discount too.

But if you're after BF jeans - no problem. They can be worn cropped (rolled) and you should hit Nordstrom and Gap for those.

I like Lands End. I can get free shipping if I order over $50, and return free to Sears. I don't know about Canada, though. I just checked and they have 29 items in women's tall pants and crops. (I'm not sure how crops would be tall?!) At least 13 were long pants.

I am tall, too, but on the short side of tall...I need a 33 or 33.5 inseam so sometimes I can buy regular sizes and have the hem let down. But at over 6 feet, I am sure that's not an option for you. Talbots has lots of long length options, in 3 different fits, but on-line only. So, as painful as it may be, I think on-line is the way to go. You could go to a brick and mortar store that has talls on-line, (Talbots, J Crew, some of the others mentioned here) and try the different fits on, so you would know what to order.

Did you see the recent thread by a tall forum member (the title was something about giving up on jeans for 2014)? It contains lots of recommendations for stores that offer tall sizes. But I'd agree that you won't find tall items in the stores; they are only online.

Thanks so much! Maybe I will forgo that and just look at Gap and order online. It seems like it will be frustrating. Thanks for the tights tip! I love tights, but I hate low riding ones! lol! Lots of kids, lots of fun! :)

Hello (tall) de-lurker :-D

What Sveta said, on-line is your best bet. In my experience, being tall puts a lot of pressure in buying jeans, so you must be ready for a lot of disappointment. You'll have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince - and it WILL be frustrating.

Having kids with you will make shopping in the malls really difficult. If you can order several pairs to be delivered at your place of stay and try them all in your own time, it will be much easier.

The height is a limitation that often puts budget under pressure too, because we don't have much choice.

Good luck.

so many kids! :O Hope there's an indoor play place for the younger ones to run around in.

Unfortunately it's hard to find trousers in talls at brick & mortar
stores and it can be a crapshoot if they have a lone tall pant and if
it's in the right size. Depends on the store. I suppose you could try on regulars if you want a cropped look :D

Its easier to find tall jeans at Gap and Old Navy, though the rest of their tall stuff is mostly online. ^ Sveta recs

I have had good luck with tights (in L) at Express and Nordstroms. DKNY tall tights are apparently great, I haven't tried them yet.

I'm not tall, but I would note that the biggest difference I see between BR and Gap fits is that BR pants go in much more at the waist. Just a useful thing to remember!

In my experience the best option for tall trousers is online as not many stors carry them. You can order a bunch and pickup on the border, try on and ship back what does not fit. This is what I do (I am in Canada too and I am also tall).
In Canada I had some luck in Long Tall Sally's trousers and I love Gap now because they carry almost everything in Tall (Banana Republic and Old Navy are also an option).
Good luck!

The first mall is more than clothing.

I often fall ino the trap of buying something that is a smidge short, or that is cotton and will shrink... But the price is great... Silly me!

I'm a lurker. This is a great place...I've learned so much! Thx!

I'm going into the US from Canada and I will be hitting an outlet mall and a regular mall. I must mention that the family is joining me! ( 6 kiddies 4-14). Feel sorry for me yet?

I am looking to purchase tights and slacks( trousers). I'm 6'1". Any good value and decent style ideas would be most appreciated!
