Ok. Spring last year I was in Zara. I got this coat navy 'cocoon' coat in #1. It's gotten good use, and even more this Spring now that I'm not in cold cold SF every day. Also was good in early Fall.

I was also having a 'blush & grey' moment and got a blush hooded Zara swing coat. That could have seen more use, but it picks up the dirt like a vacuum. Other things that were big loves: a blush two-in-one, sweater-and-blouse top that got a lot of wear. I think of it as an office top, so I haven't worn it in awhile, but maybe I should give it an outing. Light grey jeggings (got a second pair) and some light grey cutout booties (which got so much wear they should be retired, but I got them re-heeled instead) (I think they were Spring 2014).

Not as successful - a patch denim topper / jacket which really only saw a few wears (I also think this was Spring 2014, but could be wrong). Besides the fact that I don't wear denim, was working in an office wear that wouldn't really fly, the temp was also wrong. But it's cute. I should get it out. I could wear it more now.

That doesn't seem like many purchases for me. On the other hand, usually Spring is a flash in the pan for me. This has maybe been my longest Spring ever...

My best s/s purchases last year were pointy-toe flats with ankle straps, a pair of white linen pants, and sized up skinny jeans that can be rolled at the ankle.
This year I hope my EF Allot flats with wide ankle straps will be workhorses. For hot high summer I have vowed to stick to silk or linen and away from cotton and polyester.

I wasn't tracking quite as carefully at the beginning of last year as I am now, so my notes are a little sparse. I bought a lightweight cream/black sweater at the Loehmann's closing sale that I'm still wearing. I've got a heart-print blouse from BR that I still wear. Several pairs of shoes got worn and worn out, or I decided that they didn't fit correctly.

This spring I've had several wins from Twice, and for some reason lots of pairs of shoes - 4 to be exact. Some of the items in my April 30x30 are new this year, including my white birk knock-offs from Target, a blush tunic sweater from ON, a fuschia knit top, and a pair of boyfriend jeans, so all of those have been getting good wear this month.

My best purchase was the flora mortis tee. I wore a uniform until fall, so I didn't get to wear last years things a lot. I'm just planning a couple updates this year.

I'm not wearing a huge amount from last year as I lost weight and very little of it fits. The only stuff that wasn't exactly a replacement is all the pale blue. They were def spring inspired purchases.

Here are my favorite spring purchases for this year. I am a skirt girl and can't get enough A-line/flared skirts lately. I think I said on another thread that I didn't care for the LOFT two piece dress material, but I gave it another try and ended up LOVING it. By then the pieces were on sale for $18 each so big win for procrastination. The pink blazer is very well made and I can't stop carrying my pale blue bag. It just the perfect size and shape for me. The metallic loafers are comfy and eye catching (I have them in white too). White Converse, so classic and go with all my colorful shorts/tee weekend outfits.

As for what I bought last year that will get more wear: A few short sleeve and sleeveless Banana Republic dresses with flared skirts - two of which I just got back from the cleaners so I will be wearing them soon with blazers. And I really got into LOFT's Lou and Grey line last year - really casual lightweight pants and tops that got a lot of wear at night baseball games last year and likely will this year too. Also my Eileen Fisher silk pants will be coming out to play.

Last spring's best purchase was a silver coated linen jacket; Joy has the same one. (Last winter's best purchase was a v-neck silver pullover.) I think metallic clothing for me is as versatile as metallic footwear.

Not so worn: The many t-shirts I have bought over the last two years. Perhaps it's a numbers thing but I also think my neck gets cold when I go collarless since I don't always want to wear a scarf.

S/S purchases so far: Chambray shirtdress (worn once on a hot day), very wide pinstriped silky pants (worn twice), two splatter print linen Ts, and a ballet pink silk shirt (to be worn tomorrow). Oh, and a couple three pairs of sandals, but the red and black Tevas like Anna's still haven't shipped.

I've avoided pastels for years, but darn, that pink shirt goes with almost everything I own. Those loud wide-legged pants are everything a short-legged Petite is supposed to avoid, but I had them hemmed to PPL and I've gotten a lot of compliments on them.

These are my fav spring purchases-love these matisse booties. Versitile and comfy. This is how I wore the blush jacket in March. Wore it again in April with light greay/beige pants and slightly lighter color knit top and liked it with the lighter better-no photos of that.

hmmmm, well my spring/summer was the exact opposite of yours. we barely made it into the 80s last summer....and honestly this is the 1st week that it looks like we will have true spring weather all week. so i've just put away the wool sweaters and blazers. my must surprising clothing purchases from last year were from the gap, 2 pairs of the broken khaki's (dove grey and a floral pair), and a motorcyle style jacket. but my best overall buy was a pair of slip on sneakers. i wore the slip ons yesterday, and the jacket last week....and i have plans for the floral pants later this week. but today i am wearing there navy cousins...love that they can be dressed up for work.
what i'm still looking for is long sleeve light weight sweaters and knits that will work if this summer proves to be as temperature challenaged as last.

Bought a lot of Peter Pilotto (sp?) for Target least spring and wore extensively on many travels last spring and summer. They just look all wrong to me this spring. I am replacing all those bright + black + white prints with solid light neutrals this spring. Theoretically, I look a lot better in black and white than in buff and tan, so I may be heading for a dismaying summer.

last year there were lots of posts about what we were purchasing. Much less of that this year. Lets talk about last spring/summer purchases that were your best, and what is still going this year. We had a very hot summer last year, so I got little wear out of my early spring purchases. In my warm climate some are year round wear-like my white denim jacket, which was my best purchase last spring. A couple of not so good were white loafers, and navy pumps. The navy pumps stretched out so much on the second wearing they fell off my feet. seemed loafers were a big trend last spring, and there were lots of post of loafer purchases. Although mine are very comfy and stay on my feet, I just have not worn them much. I also bought navy loafers, and wear them a bit more. I just do not find loafers really my kind of footwear.

Of last spring purchases that are still going strong are rushed sleeve ponte blazer, the white denim jacket, black caged heeled sandals, and the Birk styled like Muk Lucks from Target. almost never wear the dressy track pants, or the wide leg soft pants.

Am doing much better this year, love my peep toe booties, sling back peep toe 2 inch heel Franko Sartos. blush silk jacket: jogger pants-- need more fluid cotton tops will be about my only new purchase right now. Thinking about low wedge black sandals--maybe espadrilles.

So what are your new this spring trends? What still trending, and or worn this year?
