I agree with many above. The style isn’t best but even so, the fit is off.
I have same shape/fit issues the Suz described so generally avoid this style. I do have a Theory collarless white jacket but it has a slimmer, crisper fit that works.

I’m on team donate and treat yourself to a jacket that will be a work horse. Life is too short to keep clothes orphans

Well, you are right, unfortunately there's something wrong about the fit ... To me, it looks to large in the chest/mid section.

But don't give up on white jackets. I think the colour looks fine on you, and a white jacket CAN be a very versatile item.

What Angie said. And what you said re the fit.

To elaborate -- with short hair and a long neck and a relatively small bust, a different style of jacket will work much better. This one would be ideally suited to someone with a short neck and a larger bust.

The colour is lovely on you, though. And a more formal jacket can work brilliantly with jeans if the fit and style are right for the person.

I have similar body type modifiers to you. I look for jackets with traditional lapels, shirt collars (like the denim jacket), or higher collars. I'm very fussy about torso fit, which is often off for me because my shoulder line is quite square whereas my bust is small --- and I'm also shorter than average, and a bit short-waisted. Some styles that have worked for me below -- they are different lengths, some short, some longer. As you see, I do have a collarless jacket, but the neckline is higher than on your version.

The taupe Elie Tahari jacket might on first glance look like a similar style to yours. But it's actually got a higher collar, which is a stand collar in the back. It fits the model badly but I was better able to fill it out. In other words, don't rule out this type of jacket forever, but if you are going for it, be really picky about structure in the right places.

Personally, I like this type of blazers and love to wear them with scarves. For me, they are the prefect base to dress up with large brooches, scarves, big earrings, interesting collars etc. I also like the colour of this one.
I am not so good at analyzing fit - it seems a bit big over the chest area, but it could also be the look when the blazer is open. I like the way it looks when you wear it over the black jumpsuit. However, IMHO, it does not work with the casual jeans and top in the other pictures. To my eye, it needs accessories and a bit dressier bottoms.
A question is if it is your style and how you FEEL when you wear it. It is the most important. As Cardiff girl already said - life is too short to wear clothes which make us feel bad... If you are tired of making it work, donate.

I am wondering what the fit issue is. I see it, but am confused. The shoulders look good. Maybe it requires bigger boobs and mid section?

I have found a similar fit issue on myself, and blazers need to be quite stiff to combat this slight drapey/bulgy effect in the front.

It looks good on you, but (just based on what you're wearing here) seems to skew more formal than your personal style. I think that's what's throwing it off. You clearly don't feel good in it, so I'd pass it on rather than invest more money into it.

I like the color and the collarless style but agree with everyone that it seems like a bad fit in the torso. I also suspect it doesn’t get much wear b/o the dressy style and fabric. I looked at some of your wiw’s and they seem edgier.

I find it too conservative for you. I much prefer items that have a bit of an edge and like Janet think lapels would be more flattering for you. I too have bought items thinking they would be good "basics" only to find them languishing in my closet (thinking of the navy blazer bought a couple of years back)...so you are not alone, if it helps. I now leave my navy blazer on a hanger at work, just in case I get cold. I used to have a cardigan for that purpose, but the blazer is a nicer alternative.

I haven’t read the other responses yet, but I’m not wild about this collarless style on you. You have a lovely long neck, which could use a little lapel to frame it to advantage. The fit seems too roomy also. From what I’ve seen from your style so far, this blazer seems a little too conservative or maybe a little dated. I vote donate to DFS.

I am with Sterling. Starting from "yuck" is never a good place to start. Toss it! (FWIW, I don't hate the color on you, but the lack of lapels makes this style a little more formal and mature than I think you are going for... a complete guess on that front, since I don't know you!)

The torso fit is definitely off somehow. I don’t think it’s a bad color for you. I also don’t mind the lack of lapels. I think the fit is wrong. I think it balloons out around your upper torso too much and ends up dwarfing you and making you look too boxy. A smaller size or taking in some material if you want to rescue it.....

Two things: there is something about the shoulder line that looks very ‘80’s and the fit through the body is off. IMO your suspicion is correct and the size is too big.

If you want to keep it, it can be improved with alterations.

Also, the fabric appears to be fairly dressy. You compared it to a denim jacket - which is way more casual vibe. This jacket doesn’t struck me as being in the same style category.

BTW - love your hair!

Hmmm. I think it’s got potential. I wonder how it would look with a scarf? To create some volume around the chest area, OR you could try it with a collared shirt. Perhaps even layering a couple of short-ish necklaces to draw the eye upwards may work.

I bought this off-white blazer a few years ago with the idea of wearing it over a black jumpsuit to a summer wedding. I ended up not wearing it that day....or any other day. I have NEVER worn it! It should an easy item to dress up or down, but every time I put it on, I think “yuck.”

What is the problem with this item? Some possibilities: The color washes me out—the lack of lapels would work better on someone with long romantic hair— but I think the most important issue is that the cut seems loose and low around the bust darts. By contrast, my Pilcro jean jacket looks sharp and perky, don’t you think?

Should I donate the blazer, and should I replace it with a white jean jacket? Or should I give up on white jackets entirely?

(Apologies, no makeup in pics may make it hard to see “washed out” or not...)
