I’m also really liking technical fiber high-rise joggers paired with either a merino tank or a long-line sports bra/crop top and sometimes a button front shirt thrown on top, either open or partially buttoned. Almost all of my sneakers and sandals go well with the midi skirts; I’m less satisfied with my shoe options when wearing joggers but haven’t quite nailed down why that is. I settled on a true outfit for each day, even though going nowhere except local walks. It was a strategy to keep my spirits up.&nbsp;<div><br /></div><div>This year since I’ve been able to return to art group, more errands and a few social outings, I still wear those outfits. It has been too hot for toppers, long pants or skirts, or even short sleeves. But in truth, the days I stay home (still the majority), and it’s HOT this summer, I’ve sunk to cotton tanks, old slide sandals or flip flops, and a pair of shorts which are classified “not for public view”. For someone who thinks of herself as liking bright colours, it has been a very dark winter. Most worn top, a black skivvy (mock turtleneck to most of you) still going strong from about 2007, 28 wears this winter, under my mid 1990s jumper or my new cream jumper. Liked it better under the cream than the new cream mock-neck I bought especially to wear with the cream jumper. Still wore the new one 11 times with it anyway. Also my 2018 peplum wool top added 13 wears. Black layering tops, 26 wears between the two.<br /> Pants: 2018 pewter pants, 23 wears, 2020 black biker ponte pants, 27 wears.Fave dark olive snakeskin pants, still 26 wears between the two.<br /> Black jacket, 26 wears, dark bronze cardigan 18 wears.<br /> Most worn boots this winter, Minx black/metallic, 26 wears.<br /> So really, apart from cream, everything is dark! Roll on Spring, for me.<br /> Really happy the small number of purchases have worked. I take a daily walk or two, and I don't want to worry about the wind unwrapping the whole thing in public, even with a slip underneath.</p> <p>Speaking of walking, I'm starting to wear out my sandals. I just discovered that the rubber sole on my walking espadrilles was worn through, and I was wearing down the wood inside. My favourites were my brocade floral coat and my teal velvet flares. I’m working on ways to transition the flares to Spring. Even though they are velvet, I think it’s possible.</p> <p>On a more practical note, I had a successful denim refresh. That was a relief because I hate shopping for jeans. I got some full length flares and boyfriend jeans. I’m now down to one pair of skinnies, which I save for wet days (can’t beat skinnies for tucking into boots). I also really enjoyed my cords as a change from denim.</p> <p>How about you NM? </p>
