( Um, actually, it would have to have a slightly different colour scheme and cut to suit me - but you get my drift there is more than one diamond-pattern item in my wardrobe!) I think you own this top AG; no way do I see you being overwhelmed by the pattern. The top looks totally you, and, (if a single photo can be believed), also appears really figure-flattering. But the question is, do you LOVE this sweater? My rule for bold non-essential statement pieces is that I have to be totally smitten. This piece would slot easily into your wardrobe -- but as it may not get worn frequently (unlike your essentials), hopefully your liking for this top would endure for a good while.
