I think that we should consider this grooming of stylish sons a public service. Someday our daughters-in-law will thank us when their husbands tell them that the pointy toe ankle strap heels compliment their outfit (or whatever equivalent shoe is in style at the time). Or at the very least, nod their heads in approval that one's personal style (and shoe/handbag collection) is entirely appropriate and important. Of course these future daughters-in-law may also silently curse us for creating a monster whose shoe collection is more prolific than their own. It truly is like meeting a long lost friend. And like me, she has a son of a certain age that loves to talk to adults, so the two boys happily dominated our conversation.
