Hey Maya, Did you notice that Esprit has the "Cargo Dress" on clearance for $45? They only have black, and they only have size 2, but I do beleive that is your size? I can picture that dress on you with your skinnies....

Yay for blue. If this dress can be altered to fit ( that is if it doesn’t fit as is), you have the perfect warm weather dress that can indeed be dressed up or down. It’s super.

Angie, I actually wanted the blue one. I just want a warm weather dress that can be dressed up or down.

I guess as per Nicole's advice, I will order it and seek the advice of a tailor if it isn't quite right. I forgot Esprit has free returns.

Maya, You could also have the flounce itself shortened. It would ahve to be removed and shortened from the top and then reattached, but if you found the flounce itself too large for your height, that is an option.

I agree with Nicole, a good tailor should be able to adjust the flounce. It would probably be an expensive fix (time-consuming). If you love the dress and think you'll get a lot of wear out of it, it could be worth it, though.

I think you should order it and give it a try.

Well...you could buy the dress to try it on and if you like the flounce but it's too long, a tailor can pretty easily remove the flounce, hem the skirt and reattach the flounce. It will be a bit more expensive than a normal shortening, but it's definately doable.

If you don't like the flounce and it's too long, you might be able to have the flounce removed completely and just hem the dress. Depending on how short you can go with it, that *might* work. If that would make the dress too short, then you'd have to return it.

Doesn't Esprit have free returns?

is sooo cute (I think).

http://www.espritshop.com/Shop.....ory=casual

But I'm not sure about that "extra wide hem." Based on how it fits the model, I think it would probably hit me at the knee. If it's too long, I don't think it looks like I can get it hemmed easily. And I'm not even sure that flouncy hem will work on me because of my height.

The overall shape of the dress seems great for me though.

What to do?
