Third trimester in the summer heat is not much fun. I second the idea to borrow or buy secondhand. Even if you plan another pregnancy, you may not match the timing with seasons to wear things again. Another aspect to think about is clothes that you can easily breastfeed/nurse in. Maxi dresses and long tunic tops were not helpful for me in that regard! However, my SIL has bought a number of nursing tops which have space for a tummy as well, and they are great for her. Not sure how they would match up to your usual style persona.......
All the best to you and Bub.

I second the advice not to invest too much in clothing now. Your body will look different postpartum and will be changing over the next year. If you are in the US, Target and Old Navy (mentioned above) have inexpensive and cute maternity clothes. I'm not sure about vintage or vintage inspired though.

Congratulations on being near the end (or the beginning depending on how you look at it).

The ladies are right about the clothing that fits you through the final month and just how pregnant-y shaped the apparel needs to be for that. It would be pretty big and loose for a post-pregnancy body. Right after your baby is born, you will be wearing the clothing that fit you during month 4-5 of your pregnancy.

Do you have friends you can borrow from? Is there a resale store near you or online? Those would be your best resources, because most women who have things that fit them through the 9th month are sick of them because by then, they're down to just a few outfits.

If you are in the US, Old Navy has a maternity line, and they are priced at a value level.

Enjoy your pregnancy, and all best wishes in seeing it through.

I agree with Aziraphale - I wouldn't buy 3rd tri clothing with the intention of wearing it afterwards. I did pretty good style-wise 1st and 2nd tri but by the 3rd tri I always had a couple pairs of pants that I rotated until I could hardly stand to look at them again. So that would be my suggestion. Just make sure you're comfortable (especially in the heat). It will be over before you know it and then you'll have a whole other body to dress. Congrats to you!!

Ah, the third trimester blues. I don't have a lot of suggestions -- just sympathy! I was very uncomfortable for the last bit of both my pregnancies.

As for clothes, the one thing I did find was that stuff that fit me in the last trimester no longer fit shortly after the birth. Not that I lost all the weight right away (it took me a full year both times), but your body is quite a different shape after pregnancy, so almost immediately after the birth, pregnancy clothes didn't look right. What I'm saying is that buying clothes with the intention of wearing them both during and after pregnancy may not work.

I'll leave it to the more recently pregnant ladies to provide links for websites, though! I haven't shopped for pregnancy clothes for a long time.

Hello, hello

I am in need of help to finding a style that would suit me. I'm in search of finding something I can adjust to during the third trimester in not only the summer heat but something I can wear after pregnancy and still look good.. I find a lot of my old clothes are just starting to make me just look a bit "off" and bland because I have to pair everything with leggings or a dress. Most of my shirts have buttons and are on the shorter side, and for dresses, let's just say it's a bit daring some days. Personally, I find myself enjoying vintage clothing (40's,60s,80's-90's) quite a bit; however some of the new things that you see sometimes that are modern but inspired by the past. So, if anyone can send a link for some ideas or know any sites that won't break your pocket please send them!

Thanks!
