Hue has a good weight to it and comes in a variety of colors and textures. I've also had luck with Lands End Canvas, Banana Republic and if you want more substntial material (ponte knit) Kenneth Cole (which I've seen on 6pm.com, lord and taylor etc...)

Vera Wang leggings from Kohl's are my favorites - they are truly opaque, wear like iron and don't stretch out. And they are usually on sale!

I have been very pleased with the leggings I purchase from The Girls. http://www.thegirlsapparel.com/
They are comfortable, long wearing and they don't pill. I throw them in the washer (lingerie bag) and air dry. Perfect every time :)
I like the ones called Sara's Slim Leggings, but the boot cut one is nice also.

Hue makes tights and leggings. I was thinking something like this:

http://www1.macys.com/catalog/.....?ID=471849

I have a cropped pair and have been very happy with them. I throw them in the washer and dryer without paying attention to water temperature and heat.

Thanks, Sylvie. Are the Hue brand more like tights though?

I didn't mean to say that I'm looking specifically for something that's premium, I just meant that I picked some up at Walmart last year and then wondered why they got all baggy and stretched out. I understand that I need to pay a little more for something nicer before writing them all off.

I like Hue brand, which are sold at all the major departments stores and probably a bunch of other places.

I know they go on sale frequently at Macy's and they have really good coupons, etc.

They're not a premium brand though.

I tried leggings a while back with little to no success, but now that I have a few more tunics and dresses that could benefit from their use, I'm willing to give them another shot. And I think I finally realize that if I want a premium product I need to be willing to shell out a premium price.

Here's the deal though. I'm short, and pear shaped, so they have to have the right amount of give to make it up to my waist, and enough stretch to stay there. The cheaper leggings I tried before from Kohl's were too stretched out once they'd scaled my thighs and hips to actually stay up.

And I need coverage. Although my derriere will always be properly covered by a longer top, I can't handle something that ends up looking like tights. (The horror!)

So, anyone know what magical fabric content I should be looking for? And where might one actually find these miraculous leggings should they actually exist?
