I, too, think you can rock the right boyfriend cardigan. It'll be fabulous with those great legs of yours. It looks to me like the cardigan you bought was meant to be a little loose. It wasn't made to be body conscious. It almost has a subtle A-line look. By comparison, the martin and osa cardigan is made to skim the body. I think you want the latter.

Thanks for the encouragement to keep trying. I like the look of the boyrfriend cardigan -- but they seem to be gray, black or a shade of colors I don't wear well. Tanya -- I hadn't checked Martin + Osa recently, those are really great colors. Thanks for looking around for me.

I agree that the sweater is too big on you, and the color is probably a bit too pale.
How about trying one like this, in any of the two teal shades, or maybe green or purple?

aj, you seem like an ideal body type to wear a boyfriend sweater - this is just the wrong one. It seems really oversized. Maybe something in a finer knit?

I also believe you can wear the boyfriend sweater style. It is the neckline on the one you are weraing in the pictures that I don't care for. I like the J Jill sweaters that Joy posted links to. I also think that a blouse with a collar or something to fill in the openness on your neck may make the one you have work for you.

Aj, in the photo the cardigan looks too big for you, even with the belt. I think the problem area is at the shoulders and maybe the neckline. I'd like a style on you that has more structure in the shoulder/neck; maybe a collar or mandarin collar. I also think the color is washing you out. Try the cardi over a button front shirt for more structure.

This one looks like the neckline is more structured:

I like the neckline on this one:
http://www.jjill.com/jjillonli.....&sk=M

Not sure about the color but have you tried this style?

I've been looking for a boyfriend cardigan but haven't found one in a color that I like for winter. I did find this pale blue one on sale at J.Jill and thought it would be good for spring. However, after looking at the photo, I'm not sure the boyfriend cardigan is a flattering style for me. I only have a black skinny belt so I would need a different color. Should I just skip this trend?
