My preferred boot budget is $50, which is terribly unrealistic. I was spoiled because that's the price that I shelled out for the Rockport boots - they went on sale through Amazon very briefly before shooting back up in price again. Needless to say, when I like a boot, I stalk it like mad until it goes dramatically on sale.</p> <p>One tip if you are boot-searching: if you find any Clarks boots that you like, and you have a Clarks store nearby you, check in the store to see if the shoes are cheaper. Over the past year, I added a pair of tan suede heeled boots, flat black riding boots, and dark brown, sleek, slightly heeled leather boots. I do have a pair of black boots but I get the least amount of use out of them.
