I love light blue but may hold on for more turquoise blue - my fav in accessories ( jewelry, scarf..).
I tried ECCO 7 in light blue but felt slightly off - maybe was afraid to commit to such a light color that I'd ruin quickly.
Love all the fab blue pieces everyone posting - sign..

The Ecco's not working for me? Eh - there are so many lovers of the look here on the forum. Just not my style . I need more from footwear and I think you and I share that requirement . Nothing too plain or basic. There is also a fit issue - too wide and a half size too big ( perils of online ordering ) But again, I'm going to wear them every goddam place I can this summer and stop talking about them

Sal -- light blue, olive, and red all sound like lovely options for you! Bonus, I think they can all look really nice together too, if it turns out you can't pick just one! ;-)

Nikki -- cute Vans! I looked at a pair online that were sort of a tie-dye-ish print in blues and greens. A little too busy for my current preferences but it made me consider Vans even though I've never even tried them.

Cat2 -- that's typically what I do too, but in summer when I'm wearing fewer pieces, and working with a lot of black or white simple tops, I think combining matching/coordinating bag and footwear can make my ultra casual outfits look a bit more deliberate.

Carla -- that steel color is beautiful, and not always easy to find! Good luck!

Angie -- yes, your light blue complement is an inspiration! I think that's when I first started thinking about some light blue sneakers.

Lisa -- I wonder why your blue Eccos don't resonate with you? I know that as I'm looking at pale blue shoes, I'm realizing I need to amp up the style factor of them, not just do a really basic looking sneaker in pale blue. Pale blue can look insipid on me if I don't choose the right item and style it properly. The Vince sneakers do have blue in them -- probably hard to see from that photo. I'm not ready to give up on them yet -- if I can get to where I can comfortably wear them, I won't invest in any more blue sneakers. Maybe sandals instead. I need to do a serious look at my sandals. Most are several years old.

Helena and Rachy -- those colors are SO GOOD, aren't they?

Suntiger -- These teal sandals (see Find below) caught my eye too. Not so easy to find teal sandals!

Jamie -- yes, I love no-hardware bags too! Takes away the whole desire to "match" metals. That actually makes me use my Hobo bag in the photo less, even though I know I don't need to match.

Janet -- yes, I've had that happen too! A bag is orphaned until I find the right shoes to make it all of a sudden the perfect complement!

Bijou -- I'll be right there to steal that teal Bao Bao...

Joy and Denise -- this is the perfect year to add that light blue! Lots of good options.

Robin -- I think light blue shoes with jeans and a white top would be a nice update on classic. A light blue bag would just seal the deal!

I'm not sure about blue shoes for me, I like blue but don't have a lot in my closet at the moment so I'm not sure how much they would be worn. Although they could be cute with jeans. Maybe if I had a blue bag...

I am a firm beliver in the power of color matching compliments, but have not yet added light blue. Aqua looks better on me and I do lave an aqua bag and loafers. I would like to find shoes and bag in pale blue for summer. It would be a nice change with black and other neutrals.

I wear and use blue bags often and have some blue footwear. I had some pale blue boots and also denim sandals, but wore them out a few years ago and would add some if I came across them again. This is my current blue bag and footwear collection. The bag that looks white is actually a very pale blue.

I really like the Franco Sarto snake pattern sandals and flats.

I have a light blue Furla and several pairs of footwear to go - sandals, sneakers, etc. The bag was an orphan until I got them. My bag and footwear look great with grey and navy, which I have a lot of. Having a bag and “matching” shoes makes the outfit look intentional, IMO.

Well first off the light blue tote is gorgeous. I do have a thing for no hardware bags. I recently found some light blue shoes that I might test out today (I never know if a shoe is viable until it gets a full day workout). I am always attracted to blue shoes and have darker blue platforms and knee length boots in my closet. And I do like matching my shoes and bags - not always but a good option to have.

You need light blue shoes! I generally pair cognac shoes and bag, but would do burgundy or teal too. I'll order some sandals to go with my hummingbird bag soon- since it looks like sandal season is already upon us!

hmmmm might need to join that train!

Ironically I just have a few pairs of blue footwear & I don't really wear them, ---baby blue & red Fluevog sandals, suede Ecco boots & some blue Birks....I've been on more of a metallic kick the last few seasons and tend to wear black footwear more often

I wear lots of turquoise jewelry & have obsessed about finding turquoise sandals or ankle boots, so maybe now is the time to look again....

also I have these boots! Id like to have someone break them in for me...lol. the torture. but such a beautiful color

I like the color and shape of those Corsica sandals...

I love these combos you've pulled together, and I agree, they don't have to match perfectly, they just have to "go" - especially with shoes and bag which are not right beside each other.

Tanya did a post about this recently - and like you both , I’m always up for light blue footwear . It works so well with my summer clothes . I ordered a pair of the popular Ecco 7’s in pale blue last summer and should have listened to my instincts and returned tbem . I didn’t , and because I’m sad about the money I spent on them ( they are $$ in Canada ) , I’ve decided I’m going to wear the he$$ out of them this summer even though I don’t care for them . A blue snake print slide or sandal would be awesome to have too . Do your Vince sneakers have blue in them ?

I have light blue Allbirds and find them easy to mix in.

I am trying to decide on a colour to add this NZ winter as a complement. Considering light blue, olive or red( quite different aren’t they!)

Not a lot is speaking to me in terms of new trendy items for the coming seasons, but I am enjoying the abundance of light blue in footwear choices. So I’ve been checking out what is at retail, as you can see from my Finds.

As chance would have it, my husband gave me a lovely light blue leather tote for Christmas, by a local designer who is a friend and colleague of his (see her label in pic 4). I like that it’s simple with no metal hardware to match. I don’t, however, have a lot of light blue other than a chambray shirt and some pieces that have a bit of light blue in a print. I tend to favor more saturated or darker blues — cobalt, etc. But I like pale blue and would add more if I find the right piece.

However, I find that when it comes to bags, coordinating with footwear really helps tie an outfit together, so I think the arrival of trending blue shoes coinciding with this bag in my life is a sign that I could consider a new pair of summer shoes or sandals. I could see the light blue giving new life to a black and white or other neutral outfit. Or it could look good with one of my black summer dresses like the one from COS.

So this morning while I was getting dressed, I pulled out my two lighter blue bags and decided to see how I could work with them. I have this pair of Vince platform snake print sneakers that I adore, but they are not the most comfortable. I need to try wearing them around the house more to see if I can make them work. I even wonder if a gentle stretch along the leather on the top might work. The heels don’t slip off, which is a miracle in itself, so I’m reluctant to give up on them. And look how great they are with that pale blue bag!

I also got out this neglected Hobo bag and discovered that my Converse stretch sneakers actually go with it. The color is not exact but I don’t think it needs to be. This was a surprise I never noticed in my closet. So I think that will get me using that blue Hobo bag again!

Are you on the blue footwear train? And are you using complements like matching bag to shoes?
