Here's another...tops that are too sheer to wear without something underneath. I enjoyed this trend in the spring for the sheer on purpose look. But in the summer I don't want to layer!

I'm really enjoying the trends right now. I'm finding lots and lots that I like in the stores. I like the boxy tees. I like the cropped pants. My issue is with color choices. WAY-way-way too much orange/coral/salmon shades. Most items seem to come in black and "coral". Where is all the green they were proclaiming to be THE color. Bring it...I want it!

Expanding on Texstyle's comment... I'm not digging a lot of the fabrics used for separates (tops, skirts, shorts) that are currently in stores: polyesters that look and feel like bad 1970's polys. Cottons that are already snagged when you pick up the garment for a closer look. 'Linen' fabrics that look and feel crisp on the hanger, but you can tell are going to come out all mush even when you carefully follow the care instructions on the label. Textiles made out of words I can't pronounce, that look like they're going to develop pantyhose runs if I bump up against the furniture.

For actual trends, I really dislike the loose-fit, boyfriend stuff. I'm 5' and busty. I wear a size 2, but you'd never know it in photos. In photos, I look a lot heavier. Most of the loose fit stuff adds more 'visual pounds'. I got enough extra 'visual pounds' already, thank you. :D Give me a white tee with a fitted, high armhole, and a collar that lies flat, and a little snugness in the bust and waist, and I am a happy girl. Tell me where to find that tee currently in any store, and I will be thrilled.

Not so much a "style" trend, but def. a trend: Polyester tops! So many of the cute tops seem to be made of polyester. This helps keep my budget in check I suppose as I just can't wear it. Next would be pastels. Aside from a med. light blue, pastels and me don't get along.

I'm sick of cropped ankle-length pants. I can't wear them for work, and many are dressier than I like to be in my casual life. It's not that I dislike the style, it's that they've replaced all the options that work better for me!

I still can't wrap my head around neon. Maybe because neon was a staple of my wardrobe in 4th-5th grade and I can't get around those associations. :)

I hate how a lot of people just rush out to buy the latest trends! I would much rather have a classic wardrobe staple that I know I will wear time and time again..not just a couple of times whilst the fad lasts

If by "in" you mean what is in stores, I think I just skim my eyes over what doesn't appeal to me. Like in a shoe store I don't even see the high heels, but if I do notice them I am not attracted to them. I shop much more in second hand stores so I am very well practiced in zooming in on the good (for me) stuff.

It's not that I mind crops and skinnies being so "in" because obviously a lot of people like them. What I hate is that full length flare or bootcut are considered so "out" as to be in frumpy territory. I need them! But finding them is so hard and when I ask in store I get the pity look.

And going along with that....all the tops are made to look good with crops and skinnies so I can't find tops that look good with fuller pants. I barely remember a season so not my season!

Like Janet, Lyn, and Wendi1984, too short dresses, and pants. My legs are probably my best feature, but really! It is so disappointing to try on a dress that is great in so many ways, only to have it hit mid thigh. Just not good for work, or age appropriate for me. And don't get me started on pants.

Great question because there would always be something for everyone and the balance of not for everyones in a season.
Pastels haven't featured for me since 1982 when I had a fab pair of blush overalls. Have seen lots of people wearing them with black- NQR;
Tribal stuff that still looks tribal as opposed the stylised (mmm not very authentic of me!)
Faux fur and pleather
Knee length or mid shin harems or any pants I see as very unflattering and one of the fashion world's golden ruses- mm, obviously they don't suit me.
Next.............

There are many, many things I don't like about current trends, but that's almost always true for me. I can be very picky about what I like, at least what I like to wear. Partly this is just a classic "fat girl" problem -- often trends just don't look the same on a larger frame, or manufacturers simply make their patterns bigger all over, which often results in a sloppy-looking version of something that would otherwise be cute.

Mostly I just complain a lot about it, but it's probably good to be so picky because I can't really afford to be otherwise.

I'm with Janet and Lyn. I have such a hard time finding cute summer dresses that aren't way too short! There are so few just-above-the-knee lengths; they are all short or midi or maxi. I'm loving the maxi, too, but I would love to find a couple of skirts that are just above the knee.

Most high-low hems don't work for me. I think part of the reason is that when a person is pregnant and wears a regular dress or skirt, they take on the "high-low" hem because of the baby bump. Because I was pregnant three times, I just cannot get it out of my head that a high-low hem makes me look pregnant. Of course, this would never occur to most young women, which is why I think the trend is so popular among the juniors sizes (though there are plenty in misses sizes, too). So while I don't mind the look on others, I am just often frustrated that I see an otherwise perfect dress, but the hem is wrong for me.

Yep! We'll all have our personal lists of trends that don't resonate for us. But as Molly says, that's just as well; otherwise, how would we ever make choices?

I hear you about the "calf-sucking" jeans. (I think it was Janet who coined that phrase, and it's a brilliant one!)

There are plenty of things that are currently trendy that I don't like. Pastels, black and whites, neons... But it's always the way. Actually, I'm pretty glad that there aren't too many things I like each season. If there were too many, I'd probably bankrupt myself trying to buy them all!

A couple of things I don't like that everyone is wearing these days-I like skinny jeans, but not the ones that are very tight on my legs. I have some that are just right, but two pairs that I don't like , mainly because they
ride up when I sit and don't go back down on their own when I get up. Another thing I don't like are the really cute tops, like perfect color, perfect in front, but then way too long in back.
