Jennifer, remember that my picks are not usually matches for my own feet and body. They have worked on clients - that span a range of sizes and body types. I try to hone what is good about the pick, so that it may work for you if you have a similar body shape/foot. Which can mean that the pick does not work for me. I hope that makes sense.

I will be doing a loafer round up next week, so hang tight.

By all means go to a PS on the trench. I'm excited about it for you. xo

Kkards, how much do the derek lam's soften up? And I hear you on wanting a bootie with more delicate heel. I have too many with delicate heel. It works for me, I think, since I'm petite and all, but yes I could use a more chunky heel for practical purposes (walking on cobble stones here in Boston, and through airports). These Fidgi's give best of both worlds - they are chunky heel but the design says delicate, since it fits so snugly around the ankle and has a pointy toe.

Suz, I do have a professional-quality shoe stretcher (that even has an inset piece to simulate my bunion) but I am loathe to do too much stretching on a shoe I may not keep. At any rate, I decided last night to go ahead and order the 37 Fidgi's to compare. Because they are so close to perfect. Reality is I will wear them with thick socks, not bare feet, so 37 may be just the ticket. Cross fingers.

This reminds me why I prefer to shop in stores: usually size 6 is the display model. And numerous people have tried on the display model. Which means it is already conveniently stretched out! Every time the SA offers to get me a fresh pair, I say "NO! I want this one! It's already stretched!" They think I'm batty but it works for me. :-)

And we'll see about the orchid trench. I can wear double breasted if it's petite and the buttons aren't spaced too far apart. I may have been crazy ordering a pink trench, but I was thinking about how my cobalt j crew wool coat makes it impossible to ever go back to a boring neutral. So we'll see!

Mostly I'm intrigued about revisiting the London Fog brand again. That was the very first trench I ever owned, my mom bought it for me when I was 13 and my family took a trip to London. Which means that brand is indelibly mapped on my emotions. I actually wore that coat into my late 20s. Talk about quality.

thanks for the reviews. i have been thinking about the FIDGI booties, but i've been holding out because i think i want more delicate heel, but otherwise, these are everything i have been looking for. i agree with you the derek lam audrey's are stiff, but they do soften up some after wear.

Great reviews! The loafers sound precious! I hope you can find a trench that works well (if the one you ordered never works out!) because a trench is such a fabulous piece of any wardrobe!

Looking forward to more of your reviews! Getting things in the mail is SO fun, and you just made me even more excited for the next package arrival at my door!

Great reviews. I am waiting with bated breath for the review of the orchid coat. Angie has suggestions for slightly stretching shoes on the blog, I think (she gets her feet wet) and Shannon has stretched shoes with a potato.

As I said I ordered a bunch of stuff online, and they are arriving. Will post pictures later, and update thread as more arrives. Want to capture initial thoughts for now.

First arrival: Zappos!

FIDGI booties:
Fidgi booties Angie recommended for narrow ankles, black, pointy toes, similar to the pair I already own but with chunkier heel. Often Angie picks work well for me, except that Angie's feet are narrower than my own, which are on the borderline between an M and a wide width -- especially my left foot, which is also a little longer than my right. I was dubious because it's Euro sizing and as a 6 US I never quite fit in 36 OR 37.

REVIEW:
These are adorable! I ordered the 36. But they are a tad snug on my wider left foot. I tried them on without socks. Tomorrow I will wear them around the house with socks. They are leather so they may just stretch just enough. I am always dubious about sizing up in heels, because that often doesn't work. I'll see how it goes and may just order the 37 to compare.

DH said "don't you already have booties just like that?" And I said, "actually yes, but I wear them All. The. Time. They aren't going to last. These are a good replacement - especially since the heel is chunkier. More stability."

These are not for anyone with an average or wider ankle. They are very very snug. Even a little hard to pull on. But once on... magic!

LOAFERS
10 Crosby Derek Lam http://www.zappos.com/10-crosb.....drey-blush
I got sucked into the loafer thing. And I am trying to get cozy with blush. So yeah.

REVIEW:
Totally adorable too... but sigh... not comfortable at all. Way too stiff for me. Maybe good for those who need that for arthritis? Though the pointy toe may present problems. Worth a try. For me, right foot (the shorter, slimmer foot) keeps falling out, which is fixable with an insert, but the left foot meanwhile was way too tight around the toe box. So tight, DH gasped and said, "OMG, your veins in your foot are pulsating and acting weird!! Take those off NOW!" It was rather weird. But also ... unfortunately... the shade of blush (which is totally on trend) just isn't quite right for my skin tone - hence my veins looking too blue (pulsating bizarrely or not). I am still not giving up on blush just yet. Just maybe not shoes.

Regardless, I really really wanted to love these shoes. I wish they fit and were more comfortable, because they rock, far as I'm concerned, and I could see how they'd fit my wardrobe. But alas.

LONDON FOG TRENCH WITH LINER, #1
http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/lo.....te-online-
From Nordie's. I ordered two but this arrived before the pink one. This is single breasted and petite. I ordered PXS as it was recommended size for me. I can only button one button - the one at my hip level -- not the waist, not the chest -- IT/apple/chesty anyone?? Sizing up to a PS may be just the ticket, but the color is all wrong. It looked different on the site. This is a true shade of soul-sucking beige. Not stone. It is also offered in black, but that's a yawn for me, so I'll pass.

This trench is designed for racy rectangles for sure, but be aware that it's more of an orange based, warm not cool, darker beige.. on my MAC it appears cool toned, more like a stone. It's not that at all. And stay away if you are pear shaped or more busty than I am.
