Having said that, I've noticed in my fashion magazines esp my fave one " Simply You" that the stylist I like best ( Louise Hilsz) tends to put the coats at the exact same length as the dress She is an awesome colour matcher too, she will have say a floral dress and pick out one of the colours in the print perfectly for a plain coat in the same colour. Her chosen images are such works of art. Not a pea coat, more like a trench style and it looks fine over the skirt...although I always personally find it awkward having grown up in a time when showing skirts beneath coats was frowned on. It works here because the cut of skirt and coat are similar and the colours are find together. It's a pretty common way to wear them now. With 1.5 or 2” heels, I find the length of this dress and skirt very comfortable. </p>
