Kafe, LOL at your hubby's comment :).

Rosee, thanks for your input. From what I've read so far, I do agree; Angie is much more encompassing of individual style. And nothing beats the YLFs visuals, both Angie's posts and the forum members.

I guess if you have to write a book, and it's titled A Pocket Guide, you need to be more formulaic to get it all in! I am also finding the overlap between the two (I skipped straight to my body type for my first read in both), but am not regretting getting both.

I have both "Pocket Stylist" (red) and "Style Evolution" (blue) -- the first is more basic wardrobe and body type info, the second continues the theme but for women over 40. Both are good, but I now find them a little too specific in the style formula. Angie's posts on capsules, body types and such allow more room for personal style expression. Farr's books are great if you are starting again from scratch and need to assemble a new wardrobe. The thing with having both books is that there is a lot of overlap of information. Overall, I would recommend them.
One personal thing I like that Farr mentioned that Angie didn't seem to recommend was wearing boat-necks and ballet-necks for pear-shaped bodies (on the upper torso). I find those shirt styles pretty flattering.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts, Lynne, as these are available on Amazon UK (quite expensive here, though).

I got the blue one and have the red one in my cart for when I order something from amazon next time. I'm pleased with the book I have and like to go back and forth from the book to here. As my husband would say, that book cost far more than the purchase price. ; ) So many great ideas.

The minute I finished reading Angie's interview with Kendall Farr, I logged on to Amazon and ordered the books. They've just arrived, so if I am MIA, you know why :).

Have you read them? What did you think?
