I think these are delightful and endearing. Odd descriptors for this style of boot!

Suz, all of the above. Seriously, your newfound look is begging for boots. Some edgy lace-up grey boots would be a start, with the colors you tend to wear. With those funky skirts and dresses? I die.

I wore the same pair of boots for 10 years, and the same work shoes, before I realized that footwear was part of an outfit too. I was never a shoe person anyway. But BOOTS - once that door opened, it has never closed.

Angie, I am glad these have your okay because I think I may snag them at this price (the brown/black are on sale). Everyone I know who has Timberlands swears they are super-durable and tough.

Rita, I'll report back on whether these are RATE or just ratty...

Una, I think living in Alaska entitles you to those boots. Yes, I know, you already bought a pair on that theory this year. But living in Alaska entitles a woman to ANY number of boots.

Now, tell me the same thing about living in Kingston, Ontario. Me, who only owns two pair of boots, both black. Oh, and a new pair of booties. Tell me, and tell me what colours to buy, too, and whether I should go for hair bookending or cognac or taupe and whether they should be slouch or engineer or cowboy or some other kind.

I am all ears.

Timberland has had me drooling lately, but their heel heights seem to run too low for me.

Verrrry cool and pricey but the description leaves alot to be desired. Missing rivets and ripped straps? That's not what I want in $340 boots.

Not the tan but the other ones. This is what happens when there's a half-day at school and my son has a friend over. The brown and black combo is so cool, don't you think?
