I bought some laceless Lucky ankle boots with the same wingtip styling, and I loved them! A neighborhood dad thought I had removed the laces and asked me during the school run if that was a new style he didn't know about, but everybody else seemed to accept them as normal. And they were very comfortable. L

Oh, good! I think I'll take the plunge. Joy, thanks for letting me know they come with optional laces! I am a little worried that they're too much of a beige and not really a cream, but we'll see. I can always return them.

Just an FYI, Melissa. I ordered those shoes in the fall, and they didn't fit me well - the unlaced parts overlapped one another in a strange way - as though my foot wasn't wide enough to fill out the shoe. However, I have a medium width, size 7 foot. They may be fine on you...

There is no problem with them staying on because there is a bit of elastic.

I think the look is fine without laces, and if they come with optional laces, that's even better since you have more style options! I personally would be concerned about them staying on my feet without laces though.... But I am one of those who can't keep ballet flats or backless clogs on her feet.

Sounds like Joy has this all sorted out for you. They come with laces so you can wear them either way (or both). Sounds like a win-win to me. To my eye, these are cute shoes and you should try them out both with and without laces.

Melissa, I have the ones you linked to in a light grey and they are great. Mine came with a set of laces if you want to use them but I like the convenience and comfort of slipping them on without having to tie laces. They do tend to make people look twice and sometimes ask about them but I have some Converse that are also sans laces so am used to it. BTW, They are great shoes for air travel because you can easily take them off and on and can wear light socks and avoid bare feet on airport floors.

I own these in gray (more of a taupe): http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/bo.....tback=2726

I looove them.

There's something about the juxtaposition of oxfords (tailored, fussy) and lacelessness (relaxed, casual) that fits my SAHM lifestyle beautifully.

I guess only you can say whether it would bother you, but I happen to love that particular detail (not to mention they are so easy on/off when chasing after young kids - another bonus for me).

:)

I've been thinking I'd like to try out some cream colored shoes, and I like these, but I am wondering if their lack of laces would catch my eye as "wrong" every time and be too distracting. What say you?
