As Von said, I think a woven trouser will flow much better over curves and is much more forgiving.

I'm going to be the lone voice on the "I'm wary of Ponte Pants" side...I'm not going to say it depends on your size, but as for me in the 12/14 range and curvy, I've yet to try on a pair of Ponte pants that didn't look like Yoga/workout pants or tight leggings. I've tried NYDJ and a few other good brands, and they all do the same thing.

I love ponte dresses + skirts, but Ponte pants are all "meh" to me. What I did find that works is dress pants with lots of stretch. That way I get the stretch pants comfort, but with a little more structure (and not skin tight).

I just looked up the pants I have on today in my WIW - they are the green version of these. I thought for sure they were slim ankle pants, but online says they are straight leg pants. I'm curvy on bottom, so "straight" is all relative I guess. Also, they are definitely ankle length on me. Best thing is they are cut for a small waist, roomy legs.

What Diane said. In some ways, I think it will be the tops you pair with them that matter most. Something with a soft drape would be nice.

I think they would probably be fine for a pear. They look a nice shaped pant. You could wear a fluid banded-bottom top with them. I think I recall Angie saying that was a flattering shaped top to go for.

I admit that I love the look of cropped pants with flats or kitten heels. Do you think these pants would be appropriate for a pear, and if so, any suggestions on what tops to wear with them?
