They said it was the dye process but that would only make sense if they were died after they were cut and constructed.</p> <p>I didn't think 1/2 was bad at all. I think the problem you are pointing to is the underwear line. I think the fit of 3/4 is good too but am not sure I am loving the black accents.</p> <p>I also don't think you are the least bit dowdy. I had the same fit as you on the wide waistbands so returned them. Actually, your #1-2 may fit a smidge better. I guess you may as well wear them around the house to see if they stretch out quickly. They aren't quite as curve friendly as they used to be (i.e. my old pair is a tight size 6, but still fits-- the new ones I have to size up to a 10 and then take them in several places---- I recommend NY&amp;C for inexpensive blend trousers that come in lengths and are curve friendly). </p> <p>The old editors didn't bag out, but a snug pair would loosen a bit.
