Yup; it's the Doc Marten Connie I found after AG suggested a run a search on fisherman sandals. I've decided that a closed toe would probably be more practical for me as a closed toe would look better with tights since my feet often get cold -- but I'm not sure the Connie would look good with tights. I am also drawn to the Clarissas that Greyscale and Ceit have, however. . .

I like webbrowsing for shoes, so here are a few closed-toe options though none seem perfect...

...oh, I just realized you also asked about Dr Martens sizing - I bet those are the ones you found too!

Is the closed toe essential? I bought a pair of Borns almost like those but with an open toe, last year from Nordstrom.

Are they fisherman sandals? I bet a search would turn some up!

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/to.....ts-_-1_9_D
These sandal booties were almost perfect for me: Low heel, rigid sole, a bit edgy, looked good on my feet BUT they pinched a tiny bit. Had they been leather, it would not have been a problem because the minor discomfort would have disappeared after a wear or three. Unfortunately, they are not leather so I reluctantly returned them.

Has anyone seen anything like them but in leather that would work for a wider bunioned forefoot and is low (no more than 1.75" effective heel) with a rigid/close to rigid sole?
