Diane, I have to say that overall I have found theory to be an overall slim fit. I ave a pair of wide leg pants from a few years ago that might have worked, but when I just want to look on line for the name, I couldn't find them. Another brand you might try is Hugo boss.

I have to stay away from Theory, myself. I had a fantastic grey glen plaid wool trouser suite a while back that I fought with constantly, trying to make fit. It was too tight in the thighs and too loose in the waist. I haven't tried them in a while, but my experience in the past makes me a pass...

Although the red suit on nordstrom.com is calling me...but I am pretty sure it wouldn't fit me.

Ok, I will try to find some Emorys in a store to try. I'm not really in a rush since I'd be sale stalking them anyway. I'm not convinced that even the largest size will fit, and to be honest I don't really want a very wide legged trouser.

I am ok also with just getting a jacket and wearing it with other things too. It would just be nice to have a suit option.

Neither of those Theory's " got me". I was hoping there was pants life beyond AT. The fabric wad good, and you could tell the pants could do good things for the rear view if the right fit is achieved. Maybe you will have better luck.

I wear Emery - I'm a low-hip hourglass. They fit really well (I have a lot of trouble finding pants that fit in the thigh without being ridiculous in the waist).

Unlike all the other Theory stuff I own, I wear my regular size 4 in these (I wear 27 or 28 in jeans).

Emery's are what I wear. I am a rectangle. They are looser in the thigh and the waist.

Diana, I might be wrong, but I think the Emerys are a bit wider/ looser in fit overall than the Max pant. The leg is wider, but I also think the overall fit is a bit less slim. Nordstrom used to have reviews for them both, but I don't see any now. Anyway, I think I have the Emerys. (They are at the seamstress right now so I can't check for you.)

You could order them in the largest size and see if there is any seam allowance for letting out?

Yesterday on a whim I tried on a Theory jacket at the Rack. It fit beautifully and was very well made. I sized up one size, which I often have to do in designer lines. I did not buy it even though it was a good price because it was white and I do not want another white jacket. But now I have Theory on the brain. The problem is, that I'd want it to be a suit. Preferably primarily a pants suit with a skirt for versatility. Therein lies the problem. I've not been able to get Theory pants to fit me in the styles I've tried (granted, not all of them, and it was a while ago). They seem to be generally cut for a straighter hipped woman. If you look at their size chart, the hips for the largest size (12) are sized at 41" and mine are 42".
http://www.theory.com/size-cha.....lt,pg.html

So, a question for Angie and the other Theory experts here. Is there a particular style or cut of pants from Theory that are more generously cut in the hips, or am I out of luck? Should I just buy a jacket and wear it with other pants and forget about a Theory suit?
