Oh - and the actors and actresses are filmed under fluorescent lights with NO makeup - now, has that ever happened before? I have to put a plug in for the Swedish version of Wallander.  I loved everything about it, the Swedish landscape is so moody. I'm going to have to check out Friday Night Lights. I loved Halt and Catch Fire, and House of Cards, but I've only seen the first season of each.   Ditto for Game of Thrones (I read about half of the first book, set it down, came back to it, and found myself lost in a sea of secondary characters getting 'promoted' as primaries got killed off - and I was lost). So I have some catching up to do on a lot of faves. I can't wait for Mad Men.   I love that show! I saw that when we had the HBO free trial. Everyone I know loves Game of Thrones but I'm determined to read the books first. Will have to look into Top of the Lake. I tried watching the first few episodes of Fargo but gave up. Will have to try that one again someday. But seriously, that show has given Baltimore such a bad rap! Everyone asks before they come here now if it's really all like that. No, it's not. :-) But anyway, I've been in a little TV viewing slump after catching up on The Good Wife. I have not tried Justified yet -- perhaps that needs to be my next obsession. Fargo was great (yes, the TV show, although I love the movie too), and I also liked True Detective. (Although The Office and Seinfeld are my favourite comedy shows of all time). xo Mad Men was a visual feast, and it might even make my top ten for that reason. The Good Wife comes in first as a second tier TV show. My list of series not yet finished is very long and includes FNL, Breaking Bad, Dexter and probably some others that I already forgot I started. I love watching BBC mysteries (Lewis, Case Histories, Broadchurch, Miss Marple, Poirot) and tend to watch those whenever I manage to record them. The one series that I did finish was Luther. I stumbled upon the series (by season) at Costco for $12.99. Each season is $16.99 but there is a $4 rebate until mid February. I've had this in my queue for quite awhile and haven't seen the price any lower anywhere. Just thought I'd let you know!
