Those are mens' jeans right? I think that may be why the backside is cut a little wider. Kind of slouchy but not al the way there. Keep looking I think for a women's jean that will fit the bill

I'm voting return - they aren't what you originally wanted, plus I don't care for the fit from the back.

I vote return - I just don't think they fit you correctly. You've got a great looking bum - and these just aren't doing you any favors. Have you tried one size up?

If you want white, wait for white! The creamy color won't have quite the same pop that white would.

I also wonder about the fit. Beth Ann is onto something by describing it as a retro fit. If you were sticking with the 501s, I'd suggest trying a size up and comparing. If there's no spandex, they can't stretch out THAT much between washes. Plus white (or cream) can probably only last 1-2 wearings before washing.

I saw an optic white pair of these in the men's section of the thrift store and LOVED them. Cream does not give the same vibe somehow. So I say get what you wanted!

These fit just like the 501's I remember. There is a slightly "bunchy" rear, but I remember that in the fit, too.

As for the rise --- I'm thinking higher rises are making a comeback, and I have mixed feelings about it. I know Angie prefers low rise, but my natural waist dress trousers are my favorites --- no muffin top, defined waist. Sigh. Does this have to mean "mom jeans?" These don't read that way to me.

These have a "retro" fit that I kind of like.

If they will stretch a bit, I think it is a good fit, but the colour does give me pause. As far as "white" jeans go, these aren't. I don't suppose that would matter with a lot of outfits with contrast, but it will give outfits a warmer look as opposed to the crisp look that white-white does.

I don't think these are your jean.

You wanted white jeans, and these aren't.
You wanted slightly sloughy jeans, and these aren't.

How much spandex is in them? That will determine how much they bag out I think.

Don't bleach them! I think they could turn yellowish. I use oxy-clean type laundry detergeant instead. Some people use hydrogen peroxide (a little goes a long way unless you need to remove red wine stains from your DH's white shirt like I had to do recently after spilling it on him). But in my experience bleach on white jeans is a bad idea. Maybe I'm wrong. Others might chime in.

These are all cotton right -- what about shrinkage?

I quite like them. In the olden days, I don't recall any 501's being made for women. At that time, Levis were shrink to fit. So guys bought them big, or girls bought guys pants, and then washed and dried them.

I'm looking for a straight leg, not tight but not boyfriend either.

Jenny - the rise is 9 3/8 .

I am unsure about the color. I was thinking white jeans would be OK, even with our big dogs, because they can always be bleached. Can you bleach something cream-colored?

They look like they fit you well. I guess it really depends on what you're looking for. If you want them looser, than these probably aren't the right pair. Also, does the color bother you?

What sort of fit are you looking for in them? They look like a pretty high rise (which is something I'm always looking for, since my rise is really long and a "mid-rise" is always low-rise on me!). Do you know what the rise measurements are?

Are you happy with them being not quite white?

Excuse the apres-gym hair and shiny face, I had to rip the package open and try them on as soon as I got home. What do you think?

These are my standard size, 27. I'd like them to be looser but I seem to recall that this kind of denim stretches out quite a lot. (They feel like the denim of my youth, thick and kind of stiff.) They claim to be 32 long but are shorter - I wear 31 inch inseam in bootcuts.

Most important fact: they are NOT WHITE. They are cream, like unbleached cotton.
