Interesting comments about pushy sales people in WHBM. Pushy sales people were the norm at my local store until this spring. Something must have changed, thankfully.

Great looking pants by the way! I tried them but the waist was too big in the size that fit best everywhere else. I could have sized down for a better waist fit but felt that the calves were too snug in that size.

Moving right along.....

Totally agree about pushy sales ppl. I have two pairs of WHBM utility pants from last summer in olive and white they are pretty comfortable but I did size down.

Those pants are super. I keep having to resist their lure, as they would not look as good on my muscular calves as they do on you and Angie.

I have found WHBM to be generous in sizing at the smaller size end of the spectrum. I hadn't been in one recently as they don't carry petites in their B&M store here, but I went in to check out the fabrication on the jean jacket I fell in love with, and found the sales people to less pushy than they were a year or two ago, so maybe they have gotten feedback.

Smittie: They didn't put a bunch of stuff automatically in my fitting room, which was a pleasant surprise from the last time I shopped at WHBM (several years ago). But when I asked for sizing advice for ordering petites, the salesperson definitely grabbed some "extra" stuff that I wouldn't have gotten at Nordstrom or Anthro.

Did they give you a bunch of extra stuff to try on?
I have noticed that they don't do that anymore at my local WHBM.

The top was a lucky coincidence - I just happened to be wearing it tucked into a black skirt when I went shopping. I love the color and silhouette combo though; need to keep it in mind!

Diana, I agree about their pushy salespeople. This time around I went in with a specific goal in mind (to try on the pants) so I didn't mind their sales tactics as much. But I think I'll stick to browsing online in peace.

They look great on you!

My issue with WHBM here is that their salespeople are SO PUSHY. Like, literally you pick something up and they are shoving you into a fitting room to try it on and then they throw ten other pieces in there along with it for you to try and presumably buy. I find this extremely offputting and distasteful, and so I avoid going in there. And as you mention, I've found their sizing to be all over the place so online shopping is tricky. It's a shame because they have some nice pieces.

Great! They look like they fit nicely.
The skinny pants and looser top is a nice silhouette on you.

I tried these and they were too big in the waist but I loved the dark olive colour and lightweight fabric.

Definitely a good alternative to jeans in a very casual office.

love these on you!
WHBM is one of those places that is hit or miss for me....and IMO their website always makes everything look less attractive then IRL....

Thanks Angie! I've been feeling bored with my selection of casual bottoms, which I wear for 9 months of the year in my mild climate and ultra casual office. Between these utility pants and the Mother cropped jeans from NAS, hopefully I'll stay interested through the rainy winter months this year. (I do live in cropped-pants-year-round land, which makes these extra versatile.)

Love. My DD has the cardi (passed on to her) and she looks adorable in it. Washes well and can dress up or down, but too hot for me.

KILLER

I adore these pants on you. I got the same size, but mine hang a lot shorter on my 5ft 6 height. I don't roll the hems. Just turn them back once. They also bag out a little during the day.

I LOVE these pants and am very happy I got them. Very comy, and fab fluid fit.

Just a quick drop-in to review the WHBM embroidered utility pants that Angie has raved about. I tried them on in-store this weekend and was very glad I hadn't gone the lazy route of ordering online, because I ended up in regular sizing and 2 sizes down from my usual.

I'm a solid size 26 in high-end denim and purchased the 00 regular in these pants. The waist was too large in the 0 regular, and I like this length just fine on my short legs (28.5" full-length inseam).

While I was in the store, I also tried on a really great waterfall cardi. It has an architectural cut in front and slits on the sleeves. And the cabernet color is just gorgeous if you like deep jewel tones. The petite size XS, for shorter sleeves, is on its way to me.

I haven't shopped WHBM in years, because they always seemed to read a bit too boring-business-casual in email ads. But if these pieces wear well, I'll be paying more attention to their collections for sure.

Sorry for the poorly lit fitting room photo. One piece of good news--we just moved buildings at work and my new work bathroom has a full-length mirror again, so I might be able to post WIW's in the future!
