The challenge can be completed later --- or even with one new silhouette a week, instead of all of them in one fell swoop! You look terrific. #1 is my favorite. I like the hemline, the soft drape, and especially the neckline. I also like scrunched sleeves on you -- as long as you're not too cold!

I just became a member so I am not so familiar with the challenges. But you look great in all of them and it seems like you know what flatters your body type. As others have said #1,3 and 6 are gorgeous.

I'd say this is how you spell success! Great week, Elizabeth. And it looks like you saved the best for last--I really love that sparkly red tunic over leather paneled skinnies. Fun, festive, and flattering! I also love the patterned pants--nice to mix it up a little. Still, long or volume over lean works really well for you, so if this is all the mixing you do most times, it will work fine. Maybe give yourself one big challenge a week--like, either a dress OR button-down OR wildcard.

I had similar results when I did the challenge - it was a very busy week and I resorted to several FBOs. This long over lean silhouette looks spectacular on you, so it wasn't a fail or a bad thing at all. After all, isn't it just as important to have variations within each silhouette as it is to have different silhouettes? And those faux leather moto leggings are fab!

Thanks Laura and Suz, much appreciated.
Laura, several of my "criteria" can overlap, otherwise no way would I set that for myself! For example I can put colour, with long over lean, with patterned pants.

Elizabeth, the challenge might have "failed" but the outfits shone, and that is the main thing. You look amazing in all of these, but like Angie, my faves are #1 (WOW on you) and #3 (yay for the pants!!).

You wear long over lean extremely well so why not enjoy it for all it is worth. I think it is an especially flattering look for ITs. You strong shoulder line carries it and it also highlights your great gams. You go!

Long over lean for travel makes a lot of sense, because it allows the waist to be looser and comfy, and everything is warm. I end up in long over lean for travel a lot too, and I'm not even a long over lean person.

I agree with everyone, your outfits are good. Trying to get 7 different silhouettes in 7 days every week is probably a bit ambitious for most of us - our outfits have to meet our needs for the day, after all!

Thanks TG and Angie.
Angie, I didn't mean that the outfits were a fail, more that using the challenge to mix things up a bit was... I missed on three of my "goals". But thank you. I think that this week, and the way that I "fell back" to what is a fairly new siloutette to me, has been very, very illuminating.

So I just finished week 4 of the Una challenge, which for me was as much about forcing myslef to mix things up a bit in terms of colour and pattern, as it was about varying silhouette.

My "criteria":

1. The FFBO… comfortable dress trousers and a sweater.

2. Long/oversized over lean (a silhouette which is good on me, and I need to play with more)

3. Colour

4. Pants that are either coloured or patterned (way too easy for me to wear black or navy every day)

5. A skirt or a dress

6. A wildcard or pushing the envelope a bit. This would include
copying an inspiration, or one of Angies styling recommendations.

7. And newly added: Button up shirt.

This was a more challenging week than normal, as I was on the road for three days, so was dealing with sitting in a car for hours, then wanting to be "presentable", plus the added bonus of a horrendous rain storm. Comfort was key! Oh, and on Friday DD was home sick, so I just hung out in my Lulu's :)

The outfits:
1. Joie tunic sweater over ponte skinnies. Long over lean.
2. New Lulu cardi over the same pointe skinnies. Volume over lean
3. New EF cardi over patterned pants... got in my long over lean, patterned pants, and colour all in one fell swoop.
4. My FFBO, which is my least favourite of these photos. I did feel better at the time than I think I look in the pics. More colour.
5. No photo, but back to the Lulu cardi over leggings for an evening of hanging out with a freind, decorating her tree, and eating chili. Uber comfy.
6. A new festive sweater, worn to go out to dinner with friends. More long over lean and colour.

So the tally... no skirt/dress, no wildcard/outfit inspiration, no button up.

Thoughts: is long/volume over lean becoming my FFBO? When I needed to dress comfortably, this is what I reached for. When I had to travel, this is what I packed. I don't think this is a bad thing, it's a good silhoutette for me. And I must say it feels good to have a few items now in this "capsule".

As always, thoughts and comments on anything and everything are welcome!
